how many of us are getting daily massages?
even with hair, oil makes it fine

road rash, a rare occurrence for most, is hair really a major problem?

aero advantage? close to zero, so close its probably the same as cutting your nails to save weight, pinning back ears with double sided tape probably gives better aero performance!

that leaves us with tradition/peer pressure. how many of us here are pros?

is it time for men for to become men again and leave hair alone?

I suppose 1 nice thing is you get to see the product of all your effort ,muscularity , possibly 50% vanity ,50% for psych performance

anyone here quit the razor? I havent used mine in 7 months. I always felt strange at the gym with smooth legs

Ive noticed at the track theres a large enough minority of hairy men, whats it like on the road scene?

I could glue hair to some tights, and wear them at the gym! its just a little weird when a man has smooth legs like a lady.

I agree with your OP but then at the end of the day both men and women have hairy legs, unless they shave them......

Ah there's nothing wrong or weird with a smooth legged man. I never understood how it could be weird. The only thing that isn't nice is the feeling of stubble, hairy or smooth is fine. Also waxing way cuts down on stubbly-ness. Smooth after growth is the way forward!

In short. Not weird at all IMO :)

ETA The armpit shaving seems weirder than the legs. Don't know why. Only met one armpit hairless man. Found it weird for a good 30 secs! Why did you have to shave it for basketball? Sweat? Friction?

A bit off topic, but if razors are causing your face pain you could try one of these. I got it two days ago and it's brilliant. I'll never use a razor again. I don't know how it would work on legs though.

haHa! no it's not pain in the face that's bothering (still actually quite numb in places following my crash a few weeks and and subsequent surgery) - it's the pain from my (allegedly healing) broken wrist and inability to twist my arm fully (and don't suggest I use the other hand as the elbow on that side is also recovering from its break!!)

Simple solution. Fix a razor to the wall, and rub your face up along it. Job done.

Actually a little surprised you didn't think of this yourself....

    :pac:

Jaysus that's some list of injuries. Was it a collision with a car or he just came off the bike at high speed? I read the thread and it doesn't say what actually happened?

Sorry again for the derailing op. :/

Roadies can't even fix punctures without assistance from a mechanic in a shop........ they're just women, ugly women.

Which is why the Gillette Venus ladyshaver feels so right!

Let me ask this then, who here shaves their face? Why do you do that? Peer pressure? Social conformity?

I find it astonishing how often this topic about leg shaving comes up amongst men who seem to perceive it as a surrender to "femininity". Why so few men with beards so?

Do what you want and don't worry about anyone else. We're not teenagers anymore. I'd like to think we can take the pi$$ out of each other for individual decisions regarding shaving/not in a friendly manner but it doesn't need ad nauseous discussion.

When it comes down to it, some of us just don't like hair on us. Personally, every summer I'd like to shave my whole body rather than have my sweat lodge itself in various hairy bits, and the constant showers and I'm not really hairy in the first place.

Racing incident - no motor vehicles involved - a number of us came down but I've no recollection (and indeed was unconscious for around 30 mins)

It might be best to begin by admitting that you're bowing to social pressure either way, so we can all drop the conceit that we're our own men.

Leaving the legs hairy because you feel self conscious down the gym is no different to shaving them because you'd otherwise feel self conscious at the races. All you're doing is swapping beta-dog status in one pack for the same in another. To frame that as some couragious stance against conformity stains credulity.

Having been almost forced into growing stubble in recent times due to the "inconvenience" of shaving I did find it quite irritating on occasions. Although getting rid of the stubble was even more daunting it was also very refreshing. I've never had the inclination to grow a beard in the past and based on my recent experiences I don't think I ever will

I use a babyliss stubble trimmer on mine about once every week to 10 days. Only do so cos it gets too itchy and i'm too impatient to let it grow through the itch. Too lazy to shave properly more than about once every 6 months, safety razor all the way here. There's no way in hell I'm going to waste precious time doing my legs as well, there are far too many better ways to spend my time.

I didn't realise anybody but swimmers shave their legs TBH!

I wouldn't have anything against it, btw... But what's the point exactly? (in terms of sport).. Shaving my face takes long enough, shaving to long pegs seems like a lot of effort, especially as the stubble would wreck your head!

You should let it grow. With all the recent plastic surgery you could end up looking like this:

Personally I think they did a great job!

We are all hairy and proud ! Usually unshaven faces just to add to it ! Its a good feeling to drop the ladyboys !!

I'll admit it it now I shaved before and its a time consuming process !

Get them waxed by a beautician if it comes to it but for me nawwwwww to much hassle

Waxing's great but you have to wait till the hair gets a bit long before you can do it again. Much easier to just shave 'em every Friday night. I would treat myself to the odd chest wax though.

I shaved chest once to see what it'd be like, then realised there were the nipple hairs to deal with... plucked them. I've never done it since.

The advantages are minimal and the time/effort is high so if you do it, it must be for other reasons...maybe to "fit in", maybe not. I'm not dissing it, shave whatever you want, but don't get up on a high horse about it and say "it's what the pro's do" and "you look silly with hairy legs".

I can't imagine ever wasting my time on shaving my legs, so much other stuff to be doing!

By the way...how has lennymc not got involved here! He spends copious amounts of time and money on aero this and smooth that and fancy helmets and smooth legs YET has a big bushy man beard. So so weird!
