Get an MP3 player and you should be ok. It is a little bit of hell alright. I couldnt put a price on the freedom your own car gives you(unless its an Opel Corsa which is as bad as public transport)

I got quoted €1080 to fix up my car, the assessor dose not want to cover the leaking shock absorbers even though it is where the car was impacted, he says there is no proof that they were not leaking before the crash, then I remembered I had my mechanic check the car over last month when doing the timing belts and he said it was in great condition underneath so I have passed on this info to the assessor. Hope to hear tomorrow. I certainly dont want to be that out of pocket due to someone else's careless driving.

PM me next time with the VIN I'll be able to get the numbers quicker for you.

Give FRF in Swansea a buzz, quote "C03" for a discount. ;)

I also have the diag cable should you ever need it :)

Apologies, only spotted this now. Didn't realize you were in Limerick too! Was on the phone before so the location isn't visible. Thank you very much for that offer. Will take you up on that if I'm ever stuck :)

    They are mad bunch altogether.

I dropped my car into ace auto body as it is a recommended repairer for the company of the insured that hit me.

they gave me a list of approved repairers and I went with them becuase I know them to be very good at what they do !

Dropped the car in, bloke running the place is great to deal with, said the job could be done in a day if all goes well. Was told that liability was admitted by third party and was no problem

Ace sent on the quote to the ins company and now they want to send out an assessor them to check the car and arent giving a go ahead yet until checked.

the guy explained this to me and says look itll cost them more in rental car etc but the cost fix the damage to mine is around 700 odd euro. They gave it a once over and said there is no other damage just bumper and plastics.

id love to know why they need to send out an assessor when its their approved repairer ! But I suppose any reason not to pay out.

im armed with pictures of the whole accident so cant wait for it. I know I wont be footing any costs. Even the rental car they took a 1euro deposit of my card just incase.... card has no money what so ever on it so they can go and ****e too if needs be !

So deinitely make Them Pay up for the shoch

My rental company wanted a 50 euro deposit before giving me a car, I made sure to record the condition of the car before taking it, I am sick of getting screwed.

Ah the insurance company picked the rental car for me so I had no choice..

other than I said im not taking a corsa which they changed.

I like to keep a debit card around with less than 10euro on it for silly stuff so if it ever comes back to me where someone tries to take any thing it just gets declined.

Normally it wouldve been 50 deposit but because it was an account job 1 euro did it.

Well it was same as you, insurance company sorted car but they just try to get money, they told me the insurance had booked me in for a A group car(a fiat panda) and for 20 a day extra I could be upgraded to a Corsa. I said no but when I got to the car yard they said they had no Pandas left so I was given the Corsa anyway.

Thats bollox... my arguement with them was they have to swap like for like.

so I said give me a diesel focus sized car as im driving up and down the country that a corsa wont cut it at all.

you should be arguing for like for like. .. I say you could get something decent like a 5 series. Or something crap like an insignia at least. But either way I wouldn't be getting walked on by these people !

I did argue but it was a weekend and they said I would have to call the insurance company which were closed, I dont care now as the car goes back on Friday. I just hope the assessor is fair when I call him tomorrow.
