Hi i'm planning on making a wooden Dolls House and have to idea where to start in regarding what tools to use!

Also which is the best to use - a glue gun or staple gun assuming a nail gun is not necessary for a small job.

The tools you will need will depend very much on the complexity of your build and the materials you will be using. will you be using solid timber or mdf?. At the very minimum you will need a hand saw, a coping saw, hammer, measuring tape, a ruler, a set square, T square ,screw drivers, stanley knife, clamps

I intend to start with mdf. Its a very basic project.

    You will need
    Jig saw
    Cordless drill
    Hand saw
    Sliding square
    Some sort of straight edge
    Measuring tape
Compass for the curves on the roof or just use something round
As for nail guns i don't have much faith in cheep ones
You could screw that together and use brass screw cups their a thing that fits onto the screw to finish it off they don't look to bad
Where are you based if your close to mayo and you get stuck i have no problem giving you a dig out
    Peter

Just in case you need to know materials needed
    Frame 2x2 red deal
Floors 15mm mdf or ply wood
    Roof 9mm mdf
    Walls 15mm mdf
For the stairs you might be able to use 2x1 lats depending on the height of the floors just cut to length and you could super glue them together

Project scale will dictate a lot, if you are talking about a traditional small doll's house, glue and panel pins will be all you need to fix. A staple or nail gun would be overkill on such a small scale.

Fine tooth saw to cut the pieces, square to keep it square, ruler and pencil.
Wood glue, panel pins and small hammer.
Pins need to be longer than the pieces of timber your pining together, obviously. Some clamps or spare hands, no, not the wife's, these; 3030000_1_d7be3f85d1.jpg
A bench and sandpaper. Stanley knife.
    Time and patience.
Good luck, I'mm sure the kid will love it.
