do any libraries have the starting strength book as it seems quiet expensive to buy. I wouldn't mind buying it after if I knew it was useful.

    edit: in cork

Highly unlikely, i'd have thought. It's a program that's recommended for beginners repeatedly. Safe enough to say it's worth a punt, so to speak.

Amazon have it for £27.99. I know exchange rates aren't great at the moment, but still cheaper. There's also what I presume is an older version for £12.17, someone here might be able to tell you if there's much difference between the old and the new versions

This is probably as good as it gets. Linked to from bookdepository.com as well and that's usually cheapest place to get books, in my experience.

The shipping is almost the same as the book though:

"Orders are shipped by US Priority Mail or as First Class Packages. Items are shipped via the method that yields the best rates, typically $23.95 for single book orders by Priority Mail. Many larger orders default to $59.95 ($40.95 Canada) by flat-rate box Priority Mail, but the exact combination of types (plus destination) may mean the costs are lower. NB: USPS raised shipping prices dramatically 2/2013. Shipping costs for all carriers have increased with the regulatory-driven fuel and fee costs over the last decade. Shipping is "expensive", but rather cheap compared to you coming to pick it up directly."

My bad I should have clarified I meant for information on the programs and some advice and videos.

    Highly unlikely, i'd have thought.
They had the arnold S. bobybuilding book, and some other one I didn't think they would have.

I cannot find starting strength, borrowbooks.ie searchs many librarys, you can then reserve it and have it sent to your nearest library, which costs just 50cent.

the search engine is terrible though, weirder the names the better, they have this pavel T book in laois

You can suggest books for them to get, I imagine if enough interest is shown they get it.

    Interesting!

Had never even heard of that and any library I've frequented had nothing of the like. Plenty of books on running or martial arts but nothing on strength training.

I remembered the other one I attempted to reserve, that "supple leopard" book. I reserved it again but it said there are already 2 reserves, I expect they might get more in as it hopefully registers that its popular. I think its in a few libraries.

not sure if there is a charge if your reserve is in your actual library.

They ring you when it comes in, but once before they never rang me and it was sent back, think I still had to pay.

Its nice as they are usually hardbacks.

    They have fitness dvds too.
