Grains

Just wondering peoples opinions on grains, are they healthy or unhealthy? They've traditionally been held up as an important nutritious staple, but there's been a backlash against them in recent years, with some blaming them as a big part of the current health problems experienced in the west, and diets like the paleo encouraging people to abstain from the altogether.
    What do people think?

People overeat carbs. Cutting out grains means you stop snacking on a lot of calorie dense muck. Unless you have a medical reason to not eat grains they are fine in moderation.

as far as I understand it modern wheat has been bred to be higher in gluten plus modern processing makes many wheat products devoid of nutrition. Limiting wheat has done me a lot of good fwiw, some of the less processed wheat types like spelt are a better option.

And that's the problem in this country: no idea or imagination when it comes to good food, for the most part.

If you believe there's few nicer things than a baguette with butter..it's really enough. :)

this have been to done to death here if you do a search on wheat or bread you will find countless merry go rounds.

Only thing is to try going without it for two weeks and tracking how your body reacts if it goes well happy days stick with it if not go back on the grains

That's actually a traditional French breakfast... but I guess the French have no idea when it comes to good food either
