If your male, do you wear jewellery? If so why?
I don't wear a watch, chain, rings or ear ring..in fact I don't even wear my wedding ring.

Why do some guys feel the need to adorn themselves with jewellery?

They like it perhaps? Same reason women wear it.

I wear a watch. It's handy to tell the time.

    Does a watch count?

Just a watch to tell the time.

Don't see the need for any other jewellery.

Never have and probably will most likely wear the wedding ring in future but nothing else.

The only jewellery I wear is a gold chain that was given to me as a gift. I wear it because it is sentimentally important to me, not because I "feel the need to adorn myself with jewellery".

Watch, thumb ring and pinkie ring

    All silver

I wear a watch...for timekeeping, and I like the way it looks.

    I wear a wedding ring....because I'm married and it's traditional and I like it.

    Then yes, I wear jewellery.

Had to stop wearing my wedding ring in work because it kept getting caught on stuff.
Only wear it going out now.

Saw a fella loose a finger on a site once when his wedding ring got stuck on a rail on a cherrypicker as he was climbing off.The poor bastard was hanging off the side of the machine with the weight of his body on one finger.Had to get it amputated later.

I'm a girl and I hate wearing jewellery. I love the way it looks, but it just irritates me. I had my bellybutton pierced on the top and bottom since I was about 16, took them piercings out there last year. Now I wear earrings and necklaces sometimes when I go out, but they come off the second I'm in the door! Can't cope with rings at all.

I wear a ring on my left ringfinger. It's my mother's eternity ring. Not worth much but it's pretty and high in sentimental value. I normally wear the odd beaded bracelet but it depends on my mood and up until recently I wore a Newbridge silver chain until it snagged in my hair and broke.

I've got some piercings, I have 2 black plugs in my earlobes, a tongue piercing and a lip ring. I have them because I like them. I like black string necklaces, I keep meaning to buy one of them. I'm planning on buying a nice reasonably priced (around €500) watch, as I like watches, but I'm just not a fan of cheap ones, and can't afford expensive ones.

My husband has a facial piercing and wears a wedding ring. No other jewellery, but each to their own I guess.

Although I probably fulfil the 'jewellery quota' out of the two of us! :D

Used to see lads back in the '80s with an earing in one ear. To go with their mullet 'n 'tache.

Went to london in '89 & saw plenty of fellahs with gold neckwear, bracelets & Sovereign rings on them.

Apparently, the Sov ring was a handy thing if you needed a 'knuckle duster' in a hurry.

I asked one of my mates the time as we were walking to the pub for a night out.

    "Dunno" he says.

"Maybe check that wristwatch you've got on ya" I replied.

"There's no battery in that, I just got it cos it matches me shirt"

I wear 3 rings (right hand one is a bottle opener, best invention ever! 2 on left hand were presents from GF, one is spinny and fun to play with while bored, and the other is worn on the wedding ring finger to ward off the hoards of women who would otherwise be all over me)

Then I have a pile of piercings, 11 above the neck and 3 "other".

A watch, and maybe cufflinks on certain shirts. Anything else is tacky on a man.

Not a bit of it. I used to wear a watch, but writing with my left hand while wearing a watch felt strange so I don't wear one.

A pair of earrings or a nice ring goes a long way on a lady though :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 445 ✭✭Brian_Zeluz

Yep, a watch. Tis a great yoke all together, has the date and all. Since we're talking about men specifically I think every man should have a good watch.
