    Hi,
I’m currently applying for a grant from my local enterprise board (now LEO)to further develop an industry specific water recycle unit. I almost have the prototype built and working.

I’m trying to estimate the cost to consult a design engineer to draw a CAD model of the system, produce cnc cutting files and begin the process of achieving CE certifications.

Could anyone give me a rough estimate? per hour rate?

    Thanks

Rough Estimate for a design I would base on 1 hour per drawing @ €50ph

From consultants rates I'd guess at least €100ph, might be cheaper for a complete project.

I'd get your proof of concept prototype running first before approaching anyone, so you have some hands-on experience of the system first. Very useful for show-and-tells too.

CE certification can be an administrative nightmare and very expensive. It also needs to be reviewed after certain design changes. I'd have a quick chat with a compliance specialist before any detailed work is done, so at least you can design it into the product.

    Thanks Bill
Could you PM me the details of the specialist you consulted?
I really want to get it right from the ground up

Have you thought about applying for an innovation voucher?

Not sure if you would be eligible but it would certainly be worth a look.
