Yes, it's very busy in the evenings. Weights area is packed and you will be queuing for benches/racks. There's usually plenty of free treadmills, crosstrainers and bikes IIRC.

Parking is free below 2 hours.

I was thinking about joining myself it always seems busy in the evenings when I walk by upstairs seems to be ok for cardio.. If you buy something in Dunnes stores they give you free parking after 2 hrs... Though I'd more interested in the classes no idea what there like!

Its free parking for less than 2 hours regardless.

Busy in the evenings but always a bench to be had or a 1 min wait for a free one.

    No queues.

Thinking about joining here, I see hourly pt sessions are 25euro does anyone have experience of this? I'm reasonably fit not looking for weight loss just to tone up and focus on strength training more so than cardio

    I find it's a great gym.
Free parking for 2 hours, you'd always get a space underneath.
I've never had to queue for anything apart from the classes.
Spinning seems to be the busiest class, always a queue for it. Once or twice I didn't get a bike even though I was in the 30 allocated spaces!
    Handy for Dunnes aswell.
Only issue I would have is that if you're leaving the gym between 5.30 - 6 it can be a bit of a mare getting out of the car park.

Been training with a PT in Ben Dunne Sandyford for nearly a year and a half now and I've got great results with him, seriously improved my strength and a 2 stone weight loss. As far as I know they're one of the cheapest around for PTs too

Might try pt for first few sessions to get used to the place!

Hi - I was thinking of joining this gym. Just wondering how long beforehand do you need to queue to get into one of the classes? Say the 7pm ones? Would 10 mins beforehand be enough or do people queue for longer?

Thinking of joining this gym and I can see comments about having to queue for weights in the evenings but what about in the morning, so from 6:30am ?

In the mornings it's very quiet, particularly from 6.30-8.30.

I've been a member here over two years now and the only thing I've ever had to really wait for is a squat rack or flat bench at peak time but never for more than 5-10 mins

Ok, great. Thanks for the info.

When you sign up for a membership online - does that mean you can show up and start usinf the gym or do you have to do some sort of induction etc?

You don't have to do any induction. Once you pay online you can go straight to the gym to collect your card and start working out. Just bring some ID the first time to prove who you are.

Great buzz about the place lately, a lot of people putting in the hard graft before Christmas :) absolutely love the spinning classes, hard work but great fun

How early do you have to be for a class to ensure a place?

Spinning is one of the more popular ones, the Saturday morning class always has a lengthy queue! 15 mins is the norm for the busier ones to guarantee a spot. 👌

How often do they change the class timetable? and does it differ much if they do?

Every 3 months or so. Only one change on the last one I think, addition of a class Friday evening! I know this because I literally held it beside the other one thinking it was exactly the same!
