Where to buy a load of firewood logs ?

    Hi

I'm just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction - We are looking to buy a half artic load of firewood, would be prepared to get a full load if we have to but ideally a half load would be perfect - We are set up for cutting and splitting but are having real problems sourcing timber at the minute.

We have contacted Coillte but they reckoned it would be 3-4 months before they have anything in our area. Which is too far away, we are almost out of the timber we have and would like to get a new batch cut & split for the winter.

    We are in Co. Sligo

Would really appreciate it if anyone has any contact details of forestry contractors that would sell to a private individual?

    Thanks in advance

Plenty of people sell it on donedeal, I am sure they could give you contact to a source

Thanks for the suggestion - Got sorted on DoneDeal this evening. Load being delivered on Friday - Ended up getting a full load as seller said that it wouldn't pay him to deliver a half load.

Thanks again for suggestion, should have thought of it myself :D

    HI Emg74,

What did you pay for the full load?

looking at getting same size load shortly.

    Thanks

Sorry for delay in getting back. We paid 1250 euro for a full artic load. It was part of a clearfell so lots of different sized. We have cut and split some of it, it is drying well. The long lengths are left stacked outside, the top is covered but the rest open.

I can send you a contact number if you want

    Hope this helps

It was softwood, sitka spruce. We're in Sligo and the guy we bought off is based in this part of the country. I can pm you the number if you want.

We saw the advert on donedeal

They don't have any to sell at the moment. Anywhere in the country, I spoke to them last week.
