External Adverts links thread: Read OP before posting

    Hi all,

    based on points raised in the Advertising Charter thread a week ago, and PM's that we have received asking about selling various items, with Dav's approval we have decided to trial a sticky thread allowing posters to link their WANTED AND FOR SALE ads on external sites such as Adverts, donedeal, gumtree, eBay etc. If the thread gets sufficient use then at the end of the month we will keep it as a permanent fixture and add it to the charter, if not then we'll unsticky it and write it off as something that the forum doesn't need.

    Please note that ads can only be linked in this thread. No 'stand-alone' ads are allowed. Outside of the thread, the forum rules regarding advertising being forbidden apply as normal.
    In order to facilitate those who want items or have items for sale, the following thread is a links thread for adverts belonging to the poster on other sites.

    Rules of the thread:

    1. No discussion in thread. Any discussion posts will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be carded.
    2. The layout for posting adverts, as described below, should be followed at all times.
    3. No bumping of ads.
    4. All dealing is to be done on the linked site (Adverts, donedeal, etc), NOT here.
    5. We take anonymity very seriously, but be warned, by linking to an advert that may have links to you or identifying information, you are doing so at your own risk, posting on this thread is considered an acceptance of this risk.
    6. This is a trial run, for one month, if people seem to have difficulty following the rules on this, we will close the thread

    Any questions, PM the mods - this thread must not be used for discussing rules, moderation, or indeed anything else - it is simply for linking to your external advert.

    Adverts should be laid out in the following fashion. In the title, the name of the item for sale
    In the body of the post:

    WANTED or FOR SALE - choose the type of ad you're linking to.
    Type of Item: eg. trailer, firewood etc.
    Description: A brief description of the item/items. Make, Model, age, price general quality, faults, extras etc.
    Price: Price as advertised on external site, not what you'll consider, only what is advertised on the external site.
    Link: A direct link to the website where the ad is placed be it adverts.ie, donedeal.ie, eBay etc.
