Hi I want to try the Atkins diet to see how I fare out with it. I need to lose a stone I have put on from an anxiety medication I'm on and cannot come off. The medication is called Mirtazapine and it seriously makes you crave high carb foods which the insulin messes around with and turns into sugar apparantly. Anyway I was trawling the web wondering how people on this drug lose weight and I found that it is with great difficulty. The ones who do lose the weight tended to cut out carbs or lower them a great deal and replace with protein. The zone diet and atkins came up repeatedly as a success for those who lost the weight on this notorious weight inducing anti anxiety med. I was wondering which atkins book would people recommend as there seems to be quite a few on the market. I also took a look at the atkins site. Would love recommendations of a book though as I like to read.:)

Neris & India could be worth a look, it's not expensive. If you have an e-reader, maybe get a sample, before investing. They also did a cookbook. Easy reading.

Atkins new diet revolution is the only book you need. It is written by Dr Atkins and is the most up to date of HIS books. Read the whole thing and you'll understand the science behind it. Good luck!
