    I beg to differ. I feel very happy being single.
    I was miserable in my past relationships even with a few happy moments here and there.

    That's total tosh.Are you seriously suggesting that people only find happpiness and fulfilment when part of a couple? Because I think to be truly happy you have to be happy as a self contained, stand alone individual. If at any stage you find someone to share your life with then that's great but happiness shouldn't be wholly dependent on someone else fulfilling that purpose FOR you.

    I think everyone needs to learn to be happy by themselves before committing to a relationship.

    Been with someone since I was 27, am 30 now.

    But before that I was single from 19 to 27. Why? Because during that time, I didn't meet anyone I wanted to go out with. Wouldn't do it for the sake of it, never have, never will.

    I wonder if some people now live there lives vicariously through the Internet, and therefore think they don't need to be in a relationship? That talking to people in chatrooms, becoming a social-media expert, debating on message boards, pulling the mickey off themselves to pron is an adequate replacement for having an intimate relationship with a real-life human being?

    Yeah a partner shouldn't be the source of your happiness they should be someone you want to share your happiness with. Like a bonus in life instead of a goal.

    I'm in a relationship now but if it were to end tomorrow, while I would miss the man and his company, I wouldn't think my world was ending and feel that I need to find someone to replace him.

    Having said that we're both extremely independent and our lives aren't intertwined in the same way as married people or couples in a LTR, so I could understand them feeling lost being single after so long being part of a couple, although that's more a reason to enjoy being single for a while.

    The question is more that has the Internet become a kind of virtual life for some people, up to and including fulfilling some of the things associated with a relationship? Conversing with people using various forms; taking an interest in their wishes, fears and emotions; watching two people fúck on screen for money whilst stimulating your genitals.
