RTE problem on Saorview

    I have bad reception on RTE1 HD the picture keeps freezing and breaking up .All the other channels are perfect.
    The box I use is a TVstar 1020 linked to an aerial in the attic, aligned using my mobile phone compass to my nearest Saorview transmitter.

    If RTÉ1 HD is breaking up then RTÉjr and RTÉ1+1 should be breaking up similarly as they're on the same frequency.

    Picture freezing and breaking up indicates a low quality signal, if the box has a signal strength/quality meter this will show you what the signal is like. Signal quality should be as close to 100% as possible. You could try adjusting the aerial in the attic for optimum reception otherwise you may have to mount the aerial outside.

    Same here, only happens on rte hd, I'm using amiko alien 2 box.

    Yes, similar breakups on the channels you mention.

    Hey OP, Any luck getting those channels sorted? Im trying to get a TV star 1020 working for rte1, all other channels working correctly but I cant get Rte 1 sorted!

    On my side of things rte still cracking and freezing, for now we've deleted it from list and replaced with rte+1 which streams perfectly. Haven't a clue why it's not working

    You should compare the UHF channel nos. for RTE1 & RTE1 +1, maybe the latter is from a better transmitter, the Alien being a non-approved box might have just arranged things a bit random & there could be a better version of RTE1 somewhere else in the list.
