mixer tap/shower question

    Hi

a quick question - my bath has a mixer tap with attached shower unit - the kind where you pull on a knob and the water comes out of the showerhead. It had always trickled out the tap when using the shower but now it's pouring out of the taps, only about half the water coming out of the shower.

The question is: Is it fixable? or do I need to replace the entire thing?

    Thanks!

    JC

    Hi JC
Some taps have a replacable internal O ring on the lever that's used to switch between shower and tap.
Photo if tap would help + close up photo of lever.
    Thanks again.

Center lever/plunges needs to be unscrewed off mixer. No need to shut off water supply as tap handles do that.
Check condition of internal O rings on plunger/switch when you remove it.
Replace worn or broken O ring.
