I like Wilde Blue Yonder in the first at 5/1. Ran a decent race in the Supreme to come a staying on 5th and if he jumps round should go very close.

While I'm not sure any of those lining up in the Magull will win a champion chase it's a very competitive race

Hinterland came down too far out to make a call on how he'd have finished but before that had looked a good (second season) novice & I'm gonna take connections deciding to line up in the champion chase as an indication of his ability rather than a judgement on the quality of the field. Think Byrnes' horse might be a bit over rated on the basis of his Irish Arkle win

so Hinterland for me. Hopefully some 7/2 floating around tomorrow

Think Thousand Stars is overpriced at 10/1.
Loves the track and have always thought the 2m4f of the Aintree Hurdle was still too sharp for him, hopefully will be more at home over 3m.
Also all the other leading contenders are at the end of a long season, and had tough races at Cheltenham, whereas this is Thousand Stars' Cheltenham.
(The strategy of bypassing Cheltenham has also benefited another Irish trained Aintree specialist in the past, Al Eile).

katgary for me to make amends for a very unlucky loss
    at the festival

    National bets.

    Monbeg Dude - 25/1
    Rocky Creek - 20/1
    Lion Ne Bearnai - 40/1
    Shakalakaboomboom - 50/1

I see Bill Hills are 12/1 for T43 now, if I hadn't 4 picked, I'd be doing that.

    Others.

    1:30 - Volnay De Thaix - 8/1
    3:25 - Saint Are - 8/1
    5:10 - Rainbow Peak - 16/1
    5:45 - Modus - 8/1

Feel very good about my National picks this year. Hopefully there's money to be made there.

Agree with the Colonel that Trifolium might be flattered by his Irish Arkle win and he's not that good. Backed Next Sensation at Cheltenham and think I'll give him another go tomorrow because non of the top 3 look amazing to me.

Also think I'll be backing Zarkandar, was surprised they didn't go for the Aintree Hurdle on Friday to defend his crown so Nicholls must fancy really his chances here.

Admittedly he probably prefers taking on AFC rather than The New One but the way that ended up going Zark could well have beaten him.

What are peoples thoughts on Swynmor in the 5.10? ( Urban in particular).

What are peoples thoughts on Swynmor in the 5.10? ( Urban in particular).

Thought his day was the last day he should have won what wasn't a great race if he hasn't got such a poor ride. He jould win around this mark but it's plenty hard tomorrow I'd probably leave him until next season hopefully a bad race around 125 mark.

Duke of Lucca for me tomorrow at 16s. Was wry disappointed he didn't win at Ascot a few runs back but he bumped into a horse who had a tonne in hand, now rated 30lbs higher than that day. Will be very disappointed if he isn't placed

Anyone think Victor Hewgo is a good bet although 7/2 seems a bit skinny.
Beaten less than a length in races against Western Warhorse and Holywell who have franked that form by both winning at the festival and Holywell winning again yesterday.

Found it hard to choose between Victor Hewgo (who is most likely winner) or Our Mick (who seems like a good bet) went for Mick, so Victor is certainly gona do it!

can't knock that holywell form with the topham winner narrowly
beaten by holywell at chelt also
    took that price myself

Been very impressed with Victor Hewgo so far, his jumping has been brilliant and with his only 2 defeats coming to Western Warhorse and Holywell the form looks rock solid. I think the track will suit and he's on a very decent mark and have backed him at 4/1.

Hinterland looks a solid call for the maghull today.. And victor hewgo has to be on the premises if the form behind two subsequent grade one winners is worth it's salt..Have melodic rendezvous, minella for value and drumlee backed e/w, swerving the opener and the bumper as they're way too trappy

Zarkandar at 4s is massive. I also cant understand why Trifolium isnt fav in the novice chase. Colbert Station and Kashmir peak later on

    Katgary is a disgusting price

1.40 Newcastle, I have Rio Yuma in my tracker, no notes and can't remember why I put it in, small stakes @14s on the exchange.

McCoy wins, odds immediately flip flop with Double Seven now favourite for the national.

Why is Wayne Hutchinson not riding more of Alan kings horses
He said a whole back they would share the rides but choc Thornton still seems to get the main rides.
Just don't like the ride he gave Wilde blue yonder
    Getting it into bad positions
A more patient ride and I think he could of won

Alan King has said that he leaves it to the owner to pick the rider.

The fact that he isn't 1 of 40 jockeys in the national says it all I suppose

    Some ride by Jack Duern.

I agree I was really impressed with Hutchinson on the ride he gave Balder Success last time out, one of the best rides I have seen all year.

Hinterland is very weak in the betting.

Knew the goose was cooked on hinterland when you see a drift from 11/4 to 11/2, chronic, good performance by the winner though. Makes his run at Sandown all the more puzzling really, clearly just a blip I suppose..

Cheers lads I've waited a long time for that horse to get a flat track on decent ground. Was sure he would win when runner up to Nifht Allience that time unlucky to bump into one. Have always thought they were mad running him at Cheltenham

Should be money back on hewgo
    No run for your money
Leaves bad taste in your mouth
