"A GAA star has been subject to a stream of homophobic abuse after allegedly appearing in a gay adult video.

The video, which is pay-per-view, was uploaded last month and went viral online yesterday, with dozens of Twitter users passing comment.

Some accepted his apparent decision to appear in a pornographic film, but many hurled abuse or made crude jokes, while some expressed conern for the young man's well-being.

That article doesn't state who the alleged person is, but their identity is being reported elsewhere. Between this and the Sky deal its been a busy news week for the GAA!

People slagging him left right and centre and it was discussed the length of the country.

People are leaping to this guys defence cos he is gay.

It's nothing to do with being gay and everything to do with porn and the choices people make in their lives.

If he appears in porn he has to expect some people will have issues with that from a moral stance. some people will have issues more than others.

Gonna say that as he is a father of one and in the public eye I think appearing in a porn video isn't the smartest move and he hasn't considered the effect on his kid (or the kids' mother - article doesn't state if they're relationship)
I think it's fairly crap behaviour as a result,.

Surely he must've known when he did it that it would get out eventually (no pun intended). The guy is obviously in need of help, and if this leads to him getting the care he needs then it may well end up being of benefit to him in the long term.

Regardless of the "won't someone please think of the children" this is a person who clearly needs some help around his mental well being. His friends and family should be trying to help him first not worrying about the effects on other people at the moment.

These people are all wives mothers brothers local gaa stars and any number of things looking for fame or money. If you think its wrong blame the man on the other end of the camera or dont watch it. If you think its wrong because its gay then its you who has the problem.

I think people would have an issue if it was normal heterosexual porn, that said, the gaa is pretty conservative so the gay things ads venom. The issue is just that for some stupid reason parents think sports stars make good role models.

This country is rapidly developing a gambling problem to go with our drinking problems.

He was in a porno, he didn't kill someone. That fact its a gay porno is irrelevant really. This is obviously a person who was so desperate for money he felt he had no other option than to do this, he needs help and support for his gambling issues, not jokes or judgement. I really do fear for his mental health now which probably wasn't the best to begin with, I hope he gets the help he needs and that he will be okay.

Gambling is the problem here. If he was in a straight porn he probably wouldnt have got paid and would be getting high fives off everyone but the bookie.

More than likely not. If he was hed have got a pittance. Male porn stars unless established names make very little. First timers are usually just on trial for the day. There is a very high percentage of first timers that turn up and cant perform as expected costing the makers time and money.

Ahh, you edited your post there Daith to say "legally". I don't know him or his family or anything about the man only that a man with a girlfriend / wife and a child doesn't go appearing in gay porn. I think it's also just as judgemental to assume the guy has mental health issues and isn't just an idiot who thought he would get away with it or that there wouldn't be any consequences for his actions, no matter how he justified his actions.

I hadn't heard of anything until this thread.

The guy has obviously got some major issues and obviously has some serious demons if his gambling addiction has gotten this bad, if starring in porn seemed like a viable option.

Are you sure of that? It seems quite common in gay porn because straight lads get more money.

If you ever read up on the guy you can see he has history of gambling issues also. Just call him an idiot though. He did nothing wrong and get off your moral high horse.

While I agree, if this guy has gotten himself as badly into debt as people are suggesting, then it might highlight some larger problem with regards to gambling addiction. Of course, I don't know much more than people are saying, so maybe what you are saying is true.
