What are your pet hates when it comes to wasting/spending time in your everyday life on things you can't really avoid! Like that hour and a half you spend in traffic everyday to work or even just work itself!

People in your life who micro manage. Ya know the type. Ring you over the smallest things and agonize over them when in reality it could be solved by a text. Talking constantly about college, work or menial things why are people obsessed with what your doing with yourself in the future. Just let it pan out! Talking about it isn't going to make it come quicker. Dublin Bus change overs as well. Finish your goddamn route! People are relying on them to go places who has time for making one persons life convenient at the expense of 40+ people.

Traffic, queues, bus waiting, etc can be utilized for boogie-ing, radio listening, game playing etc thanks to mobiles.

A watched pot n that .... dont watch the pot, look at hilarious lolcats instead.

    or the traffic.

You don't need to iron, hang your stuff up properly on a line and the wind shakes the creases from your garments. Discovered this when I forgot to take my washing in and left it out overnight, voila no more ironing

Shaving..... An absolute chore! I've not wet shaved for 3 years, only buzzed it to shortest stubble possible with clippers, but even that is tedious. I hate it.

    Trying to get to sleep.

You're literally just lying in the dark with your eyes closed pretending to be asleep until you really do fall asleep.

Save for the fact that it's an essential function, I'd consider sleeping a waste of precious time.

Waiting for, or travelling on public transport close behind, I've been kinda hoping for teleportation to be perfected but no real sign of that.

A minor one but teeth brushing is tedious and time wasting.

    I'm sure there's plenty more

Being behind old people anywhere - tons of people dawdle but aging has the elderly in permanent dawdle mode.
There should be a separate lane on footpaths or walkways in shopping centres for slow bastards and separate checkouts in shops manned by the most patient people to deal with the dithering.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,263 ✭✭✭Gongoozler

Dawdlers of any sort annoy me. But that'd probably be because I'm nearly always in a hurry :o

Showers annoy me. It's so boring. Can't be doing that every day.

Standing behind women at ATM's when they have three different bloody cards to try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74 ✭✭wispa9

The 60 minute commute to work, including 2 metros and a bus, so there's never enough time for a decent nap. :(

EDIT: Oh, and when people stand beside each other on escalators so you can't get past them when you're in a rush, and look terribly offended and take their sweet time moving when you ask them politely. Valuable seconds lost.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,609 ✭✭✭stoneill

Getting dressed. Hate spending time on that. Even worse if I have to choose something to put on instead it being just there. Why can't everyone just walk about in the nip, it'll be much easier.

Waiting for a movie to start in the cinema. It says a 4:30 screening, start the bloody ads at 4:10 then! I've now started going in almost 15 mins after the stated screening time.

Showering. Sooooo boring. I still do it obviously but get it over and done with as quickly as possible.

Waiting on people who take forever to get ready to leave the house. In particular, girls who can't go out for a coffee without styling their hair for hours and putting on a full face of make up in case they bump into someone they know.

I like to look nice, but the whole works every single day? Boooring.

You should try an occasional wet towel shave at your favourite barbers, feels great.

I'm one of those girls :o

Making my hair look presentable takes the guts of an hour, but it's so boring and makes my arms hurt! Make-up isn't so bad though, 15 minutes usually.

I hate wasting time travelling to college everyday; up to two hours each way. I lose like four hours a day sitting on a train or a bus :(

Let the dog out for a run, lock up the house, plug out everything etc, let the dog back in and he decides he needs to get back out again. Standing there for 5 minutes when you are just dying for bed waiting for the little fecker to decide he's ready to come in.

The whole process of lighting the fire:

Having to buy coal, kindling, firelighters, blocks in the first place. Spend about €50 a week on this.

After a long hard day at work, I have to come home, clean out the fire then go out to the coal shed (often when its cold, wet and dark) bring in the coal and blocks then light the fcuking thing. Feeling all grimy, with coal dust and ashes floating into my hair. Only takes about 15mins, but it a complete pain in the buttocks.....

Roll on the summer til I dont have to go through that everyday and have an extra €50 a week in my pocket!

Maan, I wish I had central heating

It is. I find it much more time efficient to just pee as I go through the day. The rash is a bit irritating, but I just soldier on.
