Can anyone recommend a really good & accurate digital bathroom scales?

Been looking for a good scales for ages. I have a shoddy auld thing in my house which gives me one reading, one in the gym that gives me another, one in the boyfriends house that gives me another and one in his parents house that is different again. However, I might add that they are all needle scales not digital.

I have looked up the best sellers on both Argos and Amazon but even with loads of 5 stars reviews there are always a good few (20+) 1 stars reviews for the same products with people complaining of inaccurate results and getting different readings every time they get up on it.

Can anyone recommend one that they use that they believe is really accurate and reliable?

P.S. I'm not to bothered about it reading bodyfat and all that extra info - just something that reads KG/lbs and stones etc.

with anything that sells reasonably well you're going to run the risk of faulty versions being shipped out as well as some people just being grumpy ****ing morons

i have this. no complaints whatsoever, had it for nearly 2 years.

I was just looking at that one! It was the 1 star review of 'doesn't work - waste of money' from 24th Feb 2014 that turned me off but two years with no problem is good.

I know Argos are good to buy from because if there ever is a problem they are good to deal with, I just have a voucher for Amazon that I'd like to use. I'll see if I can find that scales on Amazon. Thank you.

I got one from Argos a couple of years back - must be 3 or more now, but it's not on the website anymore - and it's still working fine. I calibrate it with a kettlebell because it can sometimes be up to 1.2kg out (always on the high side...) so I make sure it's in order by weighing the kettlebell before I step on.

Have a glass digital weightwatchers one from Argos and last year it was bang on the same as the super extra heavy duty scales in Hercs used for the IPO weigh ins. I was 99.9kg in the 100kg weight class so not much room for error.

It would be best to check with a weight near your own weight.

If you had 4x20kg plates you could bring them to a gym, or perhaps a chemist with a decent scale.

I used a weightwatchers one once which gave errors when low on batteries.

    I do. It's a 75kg kettlebell :D

It does the job. I cross-check with the one in the gym.

this is very good. It has 4 profiles so handy if your sharing it, and the buttons are big and clunky enough to press with your toe.

It also shows your previous weight and the difference, so its nice to see that trend upwards / downwards whatever your aiming for.

Most important thing is to weigh in in the mornings every few days and graph it. You will see the long term trend then.. As weight can fluctuate wildly depending on what you've been eating and your hydration etc etc

I find the weight watchers scale very accurate too and not too expensive, always use on a flat hard surface.

Most people that complaining about scales being inaccurate fail to realise that their weight fluctuates over the course of a day.

Yes I know what you mean but when I'm referring to people complaining about inaccurate scales, I'm more referring to those who are hoping up and down off it a few times in succession and getting different readings as opposed to those taking readings from different times across the day.

I went with this one from Amazon in the end:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ozeri-Precision-Bathroom-ActivationOzeri-Activation/dp/B00472I1V2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396420759&sr=8-1&keywords=digital+bathroom+scales

It's been dispatched already so hopefully I'll be happy with it. I'll report back when it arrives. Thank you for all your answers.

This is the one I have http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/8335863/Trail/searchtext%3EWEIGHTWATCHERS+SCALES.htm

Reasonably priced, find it very accurate, does the job!!
