She was trying to correct him by saying that Ireland isn't in the UK. I think that he said something about the UK. Got very bitchy about it on her twitter. She's managed to make a total fool of herself.

    Scarleh' for her.

HAAAAAHAHA great standard of reporting there love, realising you made a tit of yourself and then drag it to gutter level hoping you could win (I don't know what) and make a bigger tit out of yourself, who ever she works for should put her in control of the daily Horoscope....

I seem to remember a game a while back where Ireland played Australia in a hybrid game taking aspects from both Gaelic football and Australian football, seeing the games are somewhat related. So it doesn't seem entirely outlandish to me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,180 ✭✭✭hfallada

Why did she even put that online? You have amazing opportunity to interview someone famous and she completely ****s it up.

But I have a feeling there is a place for her in rte. She is better than half of the reporters in rte

    Daily Mail, I think?

I think the mic had their logo on it, I only saw it briefly though.

A Rugby League club (Wigan I think V ?) has taken on a Rugby Union club over a decade ago in a game and the Wallabies are taking on a English Rugby League team next year I believe, so it has been done in the past, still a stupid idea...

She's using the hashtag #fearlessjourno to describe herself on Twitter... hahaha :o

He could have just said "yeah sure, lets bring them to Ireland and play a game some time, drink some Guinness be gorrah" The move on to the next reporter. Everyone would have been happy. I guess that's why hes always fightin' round the world!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

In fairness Crowe made a lot more of it than he should have but it's still hilarious

She tried to talk Rugby to RC. He said that where he is its all League.
She tried to cover her lack of knowledge by saying just make up a fun game...
He told her that its not the same game at all.
She then tried to cut him down by saying that he said that Ireland was in the UK and he corrected her by saying that he also said "This part of the world."

Are we witnessing the shortest ever career in journalism?! Probably the most unprofessional behaviour I've ever seen, so cringey.

I looked it up and that specifically doesn't apply to me. Russell confirmed it at the weekend. :(

"I know geography" proud reporter Niamh Walsh.

I'm from Ireland but I do realise that most people in the world probably don't know or give a **** about us on our little island or our geo-political history vis a vis england.

There's a huge difference between this one and that one. That one was full of people commenting on a reporter's appearance in pretty derogatory tones.

This one is about what someone has done.

    I think so anyway.

He was a bit of a knob just to not go with it and say "Ah yeah, we'd take ye" or something stupid, but then she was too stupid to move on, and then an immature twat to counter correct him with the UK thing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,299 ✭✭✭✭The Backwards Man

Crowe didn't exactly cover himself in glory either. Pretty well matched between the two of them I thought.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,533 ✭✭✭Donkey Oaty

It's not exactly "Frost/Nixon", is it.

    Why should he play stupid

Yeah, she mentions the UK thing on her Twitter as well. She'd be as well to just let the whole thing go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,068 ✭✭✭Specialun

Shes coming across as a right tosspot..instead of moving on and admitting she was wrong she seems hell bent on looking for action

Think she would be more suited to report for a parish festival where marty whelen opens it

But she may as well have asked Arsene Wenger if he'd fancy a match between Arsenal FC and Kerry GAA football team.

Stupid journos who ask questions about something she knows nothing about, without doing any research, at a movie premiere deserves all the embarassment they get.
