Google Maps in Irish on my phone

So the majority of street names on Google Maps are in Irish. Unfortunately I cant read Irish, making this once handy app pretty useless. I cannot find a settings option to change it to English. I can't be the only one who finds this problematic. Any help appreciated!!! Thanks

As far as I know, you can blame the original mapping company for that. Google have done the mapping for the majority of Dublin city centre, for example.

However, if you zoom in, you should see both names. For example, Harcourt Street is listed in bi-lingual form.

Examples? Most of mine are English, with occasional ones labelled with both. Are you using the latest version of Maps? What are your settings here: https://www.google.com/settings/language?
