My parents have decided to do a clear out of the house. This includes my old bedroom and my "video" drawer. Yes videos. Ive had them since I was about 13 in the mid 90s. I have a load of old yachting world mags aswell

I have videos that started off recording the late sunday night weekly editions of the 93/94 whitbread race on ITV (network 2 & michael lyster were included aswell). However over time my recordings grew from the 93/94 whitbread to what ever sailing was on tv at the time plus the odd maxi " for sale promo video ". & the 98 race aswell plus some other various stuff.

Theres the best part of 20 old video tapes that I would rather not see ending up in the skip. They are videos I will never sit down and watch again after having multi viewed ( and maybe nearly worn out) in my younger days.

I have offered them to my club and the maritime museum but just wondering if any one knows of anywhere else that might be interested

I can't believe "Old sailing videos" and 90's go in the same sentence now :(:D
Maybe you could digitize them and keep them for all time on the internet.

Dont know how to digitize but i think it could take a while. Theres about 20 tapes some of which have 3-4 hours of recordings on them

Realistically digitising some or all of them is the only practical way to preserve them. There was no Irish entry so limited value to an Irish Maritime Museum or club I would have thought?
