It's usually started earlier. As soon as the deadline for this week closes we all start to think of our next transfer, if nothing drastic happens of course.

I banked my transfer last week as I was just transferring sterling out for jedinak and wouldn't have been playing jedinak so said I might aswell hang on and do it this week incase I need to do something different.

So most likely sterling out and might save the other one.

This will be mine too. Zab at around 65% to a rise at the moment so might have to do it early.

Just gonna go with Collins to Naughton I think. His place in the team has solidified of late, right? I'll of course be waiting to see what happens tomorrow first. Is he dependent on Walker to remain out though? They both started against Chelsea though if I remember correctly.

2 free transfer, 1 will be used flogging Evra tonight.

Mulling over getting rid of Mata for Silva too...

What are peoples thoughts about the below transfers over next 2 GW's

Hazard, Gerrard, Bony and McCarthney out

Silva, Barkley, Lukaku and Kompany In + 1.6m in bank

I have the same $$$ bet with 2 people, I'm 25 points ahead (3 players the same) of one rival and about 40 points behind the other (5 players the same) - this player has "given up" as he was over 140 points at one stage and pretty much said I wouldn't catch up (for example he has Aguero starting all game and Suarez is always captain - however he has Silva and Mata).

He will have 4 players for DGW if Aguero plays. If I do the above transfers I will have 7 playing DGW (plus 3 city guys for there other DGW). Time is running out and so I need to catch him at some point and having very different teams means if I don't score well he'll probably will.

The only one of the above transfers I'm unsure about is the Hazard one really (I don't need the cash, so could hang onto Hazard and go with other 3).

Why, after the first Bayern game, he'll be back in the team every week?

Will he though if he could be leaving in the Summer? Moyes has already said he will be phasing Vidic out.

    Kos to Zab pretty certain.

Leaves me a straight choice for DGW34 of either Aguero/Barkley or Lukaku/maybe Silva in for Dzeko and Gerrard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,255 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

I'm waiting to see if Gerrard gets booked today. If he does, I'll go for Silva.

I need to solve a few problems in my team. Noone, Nolan, Sterling and Ade.
Will probably wait until after mondays matches and decide then.

he'll be phasing vidic out as he needs to see how smalling/evans/jones play at centre back a bit more before deciding if he needs to bring in a new centre back.

I don't think there's any hope of buttner ever being good enough to take over at left back. I'd imagine buttner will also be on his way or else kept merely as a squad player.
I'd expect Evra to play all the games after the first Bayern game.

If Gerard gets booked today is he definitely out for next game?

Yeah, and the one after that I think. I very much hope this happens.

Likely to be taking a 4pt hit if Gerrard gets booked today as shifting Evra is a priority.

    Gerrard to Barkley
    Evra to Zabaletta

Whats the story with Aguero. Will he be back for the DGW?

Likewise. Just replace Evra with Koscielny.

These two transfers leave me exactly enough for Dzeko to Aguero!

He didn't even make the Matchday squad yesterday. I think City have learned from the last two instances of rushing him back and are taking their time.

IMO he'll feature next week and then start vs Liverpool in the DGW.

This, and then probably rested in the game after. If the League Cup ends up being the sum of City's trophy haul then Pellegrinis decision to rush him back in games like Wigan and Watford will no doubt be a key reason.

Not really rushing to get Aguero back as the season will he nearly done by time he is proper fit. To get him back would mean selling one of Sturridge or Suarez I fear.

I might take Sturridge out for him come GW37 as he'll have three games to Sturridge's two. Alot could happen between now and then though.

    Barkley plan binned...calf injury.

Everton mid will be a made to figure out for the DGW but Naismith looks lively since he came on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,222 ✭✭✭Calvin

Think I might hold off on Aguero and just keep J-Rod, who was unlucky not to grab 3 yesterday. Gonna have to sort my defence out..Kolarov > Zabaleta I'm thinking as Kolarov hasn't played in the last two for City.

    Mannone, Adrian

    Dummett, Bennett, Coleman, Ward, Evra

Mata, Yaya Toure, Jedinak, Hazard, Gerrard

    Sturridge, Suarez, Lukaku

    2 FT's & £1m in the bank

Evra is going, didnt get rid last night because price changes didnt affect anything I'd be considering.

The obvious choice is Zabaleta in for Evra. The hard choice is whether to get rid of Gerrard or Mata for Lallana or Silva. I had written off Lallana yesterday but Lemlins comment & his performance brings him right back into the fold.

My choices to bring in are very few at the moment which means I'm probably not considering everything so advice & ideas would be appreciated

I'll probably do Gerrard to Silva myself. Having Gerrard and the SAS means I am too reliant on Liverpool.

They have West Ham away and then City so their fixtures aren't the easiest either.

Barkley out not sure who for though. It'd be my luck he gets injured the week I bring him into my team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,962 ✭✭✭Hogey007

might actually sell shaw as stupid as that sounds but he plays city next week, and then the following week he has cardiff at home but it's the dgw and i reckon i'd be starting distin, coleman & ward ahead of him.

after that then it's villa away, everton home, swansea away and united at home. certainly no nailed on cs's there, probaly more of a chance in the 2 away games.

most people have southampton defensive cover though so i don't want to get caught out, are others keeping their southampton defenders or shipping them out?

edit: actually looking more at his stats it's not too daft getting rid, guess i just had yesterday's game and cs in my mind, he's scored a 1 pointer 5 times in the last 8 gw's. will see later on in the week anyway.

    My plan for the next few weeks;

Sell Gerrard after next week for Lallana.
Sell Olsson for a Man City defender.
Sell J Rod for Lukaku for the DGW 34.

Then use my wildcard for GW 37 and get 3 Man Utd players.

Martinez on Barkley from Everton official website. ..
“Ross had a knock on his calf halfway through the first half,” Martinez said. “With these soft tissue injuries, someone like Ross doesn’t think it will affect him and he wanted to run it off.“He had to come off but during the season you are as good as your squad – it’s never been a game for just 11 players."

Do people think Ivan- Zab is worth a transfer? Struggling on this one:confused:
Have to ship Smalling too, but not sure who I can afford that is worth it, so may leave for now maybe Flanagan/ Stones if keeps place? (Def: Bardsley, Ward, Coleman)

Don't think i'll touch my front 7 much of:
    Hazard Lallana Silva Yaya
    Suarez Stur Lukaku

That is a super strong front 7 yeah, mine is the same except Johnson instead of Lallana

I reckon I'll go Gerrard to Silva this GW. 3 Liverpool attacking players is leaving me with an over reliance on them.

Should Aguero come back next week and play for a decent period of time, I would then have enough to swap Sturridge for him. Would leave me with this team for DGW:

    Mannone
    Bardsley Coleman Ward
    Silva Yaya Hazard Lallana
    Aguero Suarez Lukaku

8 DGW players. I am by no means sure about Aguero though. The plan was always a City defender but the cash is sitting there for Aguero and City have some tough games so may not keep clean sheets. After the City DGW, I may even go Aguero to Rooney as United have a DGW in 37.

Looking to transfer out Nolan after tonights game. Don't like their fixtures for the rest of the season so thinking of taking a punt on someone like Schurrle or possibly even Ramsey. Any other mids in that price range (£7m). Don't want Eriksen again, and not a fan of Sunderland's run-in either (so no Johnston).

I was at the game Saturday night and couldn't believe how well organised the City defense was - Kompany, Demichelis and Fernandinho just controlled the movements of the rest of the team like it was a game of Fifa.... Only 4 more goals shipped than Chelsea is really impressive and largely ignored.

I'd fancy the defense to continue to perform well but the team badly needs Aguero back in attack, Dzeko is a fine player but just not quick enough to complement the work of Silva and Negredo is badly off form.

    Useful information.

I'm probably still gonna get a City def, partly as most ahead of me will and very risky not to.

Hoping Zab overdue some attacking returns soon.

the double everton defence of baines and coleman not working out with 2 cleanies altogether.
thinking of balancing it with a city def.

this question isn't for me but a team i'm helping with which is in now neck and neck in a money league

    current team
    mannone - Adrian

    Kompany - Coleman - Shaw - Ward - Dummet

    Gerrard - Hazard - Toure - Nolan - Bentaleb

    Suarez - Sturridge - Lukaku
which of these sound the best

    1. silva in for gerrard at a straight swap (would ideally like to keep gerrard for west ham)

    2. Silva in for Nolan and Chester/chambers in for Shaw at a hit to finance it (wouldn't be playing shaw v Cardiff anyway as Kompany/coleman/ward all have DGW's)

    3. Bank the transfer for this week as getting silva in leaves no scope for getting aguero in if he's back, and maybe bring Lallana in for Nolan after they play city rather than Silva?

Ideally i'd like to get rooney/aguero in for lukaku after everton play the dgw so that's why there's a reluctance to bring silva in, if I hold off on getting silva in, I could bring lallana or even barkley (if fit) in for Nolan.

any thoughts on these options or feel free to add your own.

Bank it. Good team for week 33, no need to transfer out Gerrard if he's playing West Ham, no need to transfer in Lallana playing City (though I'd bring him in following week).

I'd bank it if you can to be honest. I like the proposed transfers I just don't see the justification for this week over doing it next week (price changes would change that though so keep an eye out)

Mata to Silva should i do it this week or wait for the DGW..???

    Mata away to WHU

cheers thanks for the reply. yeah the only one I would have to do this week would be silva/chester for Nolan/shaw because as it is there's only .1 to spare on that and if Nolan drops as expected (barring a supershow tonight) and silva rises before Saturday i'd be unable to afford that next week.

I suppose I'll watch the match tonight and decide then if Nolan is worth keeping at home to Liverpool.

Mata is away to Newcastle, not West Ham.

I'm banking hopefully to decide whether to go down the Silva or aguero route......and then Rooney from 36 on.....no more points hits either. Haunted by Nolan to llalana
