Stomach pain after weight lifting

I've been getting very sick in my stomach after I lift weights. Not to the point of vomiting, but I've had to cut my workouts short and sit down. At first I thought it was my protein shake, so I stopped taking it, but the feeling continued. I eat clean and I eat a good amount, so I'm not sure if I'm just stressing my body out and that's where it's landed or what. It doesn't start to hurt until halfway through a workout.

How long have you been doing this routine, how fit are you generally, and are you remembering to breath while you are lifting? A lot of people hold their breath when they try to lift something heavy, and end up making themselves light headed because of lack of oxygen. If it gets bad enough, your body will start diverting blood to your brain to keep you concious, at the expense of other areas like your gut. If this happens, you're going to get sick.

I wouldn't go running to the doctor straight away. Try concentrating on breathing properly, and scale back your work-out for a while and see how it pans out.

Well I've been doing the routine for about 6 months. The sick feeling comes and goes. I tried to figure out a pattern, but couldnt! I actually did go to a doctor, but he wasn't worried about it, just told me to eat healthy, which I do. I took a couple weeks off from working out, but now I'm back at it again. I do breathe while I lift, but I guess I'll go light for awhile and see if that helps at all. Hiit workouts also cause it.

Yeah, it really sounds like you're just not pacing yourself properly.
