Alpina B7 BiTurbo , from alpina's website "The B7 Bi-Turbo now benefits from the newest ALPINA V8 Bi-Turbo engine generation with 397kW (540hp) and 730Nm of torque"

its effectivley an M5 disguised as the orient express

Off the poll, the Benz SLS.

Free choice of anything, a 4 door RWD Skyline R34 with ridiculous power to skid myself around the place ;)

    Example.

Classic! Only on boards! :pac: The Gold plated Panda was sold this morning, put it this way, gun to your head, which would you 'settle' for!

The McLaren P1 is by far the best car on that list, so I voted for it. It's by far the most expensive too!
In reality (I use the term loosly here!) I'd choose from a much wider pot.

    One car only?

    How about 800ps, 1100nm, 4wd, 5 doors?

I give you the Brabus G 800 Widestar...

    F40!

    Or from the poll, 458.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,028 ✭✭✭H3llR4iser

The McLaren is a spaceship in there...so it'd be the choice from the group.

If I was at a point where "money is no object", I'd probably hire a small team and task them with the sole duty of providing me with a "drive of the month" :D

Slightly more serious, I don't think I would go for one ultracar; Most likely, I'd try to get my hands on rarities such as an Alfa SZ and a Lancia Stratos, and try just about anything from a MK I Golf GTI to the latest Corvette!

Never understood why the R8 was a 'lotto car' They are pretty cheap in the UK at the moment. Well within grasp if you were on decent money and prepared to take the depreciation hit. €50k would get you one plus the VRT. Thats cheaper than some family saloons.

In all honesty, the perfect car for me if money was not a problem would be a BMW 760iL, spec'ed to the hills.

    No super cars for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,661 ✭✭✭Voodoomelon

Out of the choices, I voted for the P1.

Genuinely, I don't know if I could hack the attention from the likes of the Aventador or Vanquish. P1 is a little less subtle, albeit not much.

They're also pretty dull in the metal - which can be a positive depending on your personality. Case in point, passed a silver/grey 08 parked outside the old Ford dealers at Dennehy's Cross this week. Pointed out to the person I was with. No reaction. Couldn't understand why I'd be making a fuss over an Audi TT.

My boyhood dream would be the McLaren F1. However I do like grand tourers. So I'd probably go for something sensible and relatively practical like the Ferrari F12 - just not in red.

If money was absolutely no object and i was rolling in it, I'd have a garage that Jay Leno would give his left nut for.
But my main car would be:

I selected the Rolls Royce Phantom, but I'd truly love the "baby rolls"

I know it's not quite the same, but guy at work has a brand new 740d, and there's few cars I was more disappointed in when I had a gawk at it. Another has a new 535d with almost every extra thrown at it, including things like Sports Comfort seats (which are significantly more expensive than even the sports seats upgrade!), etc, and it looks far more impressive inside.
I'm a BMW fan by and large, but I think the 7-Series is the car in that class I'd be slowest to buy. New S-Class seems to be a long way ahead.

However, I'm a supercar kind of guy though! I'd be happy with an E39 as a daily hack if I had a beast in the garage! Money no object though there's no way I'd have only 1. I'd register Ultracars.ie and start buying anything I saw and liked, and when after driving it home I thought "na, it's not quite for me" I'd just advertise it on my website. Whatever it sold for I'd happily take! That way you never have fantastic cars sitting in the corner of a 50 car shed that never gets driven, which is a waste. Buy, enjoy, move on for someone else to enjoy I reckon. There are a handful that I'd keep though. F40 is one.

Audi S1. Good call on the airport DGT. I'd buy a small island and build a race track on it :).

No offence to the OP but I wouldn't pick any of those in the Poll. Perhaps I'm boring but if money was no object, I'd like something more understated and modest. A 3.2L V6 159 would be my kind of Motor. Sweet :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,019 ✭✭✭davycc

Ferrari F40 as my daily driver would be sweet or an ultima gtr

That's why I'd love a Ghost, they're unpopular with pricks and definitely not abused, so 99% of the time, it had a caring owner.
    (Pricks have Phantoms) :pac:

+1 for KITT, but preferably in the two-tone that his evil twin KARR came in:

    karr_3.jpg

Always loved that car - plus you can get them made up the same as in the show with the scanner, dash, monitors etc :)

    But for day-to-day I think a fully-loaded A/S8:

Yes, a Ultima would have to be in the list plus a GT40 replica. a Radical RXC and a nice Evo RS as a sensible car. I'd still keep the Exige though.
