Help/Recommendation after large weight loss

Long time user here incognito for my privacy. In the last 16 months I've (male) lost some 8 stone and come back from what I would call the brink. I've 2-3 stone to go but its going handy now. I've basically wasted 12 years of my life and isolated myself with misery and drink but have now straightened out. At 33 I'm desperate to grasp a life and feel this is make or break now. I cant go back to what I can only be described as the abyss and the shame and embarrassment that kept me from medical help.

Without my crutch the full crushing weight of loneliness has crashed on me hard since January, life seems very empty without someone. But it's also instilled a sense or urgency in me. I've been left physically and mentally scared by the experience. I know what needs to be done. I'll be lean and muscley fit by June but I've got some loose stomach skin and stretch marks and teeth need a bit of work. Also some slight phismosis on the penis (maybe a partial circumcision or something). That's the back story now here is my request.

Can someone recommend a medical practitioner that might be considerate to my situation on Dublin 11, 7 or 15 in city NW? Male or female I'm not sure, the last 2 times I went to 2 male GPs I may as well have been dead. I've not had a regular doctor for 20+ years. Opinions welcome. Maybe also a dentist in the same area. I'n not an uggo I swear. I know these sound shallow but they form Everest size mental blocks in my mind to finding someone.

Assuming all goes well all I have to do is get one over on my crippling social feelings lol  and find a woman I can talk to (opinions really needed here when I've let friends drift years ago, where the hell do I start! I've never had a relationship). Anyway as scary as all this is its nothing compared to what depression can hold.

Well done you seem like your really making some really important changes in your life and that is great, i hope it all goes well for you. Can't help with the dentist or doctor but I had problem with phismosis around two year ago. Don't waste time and money going to see doctor as they will just refer you to a consultant. The consultant was another expense and your put on another list to get called for surgery. The biggest issue was the surgeon would be only doing full circumcision which i really didn't want but this might be no problem for you. I ended up doing more research and found a clinic in malahide called arte novi . All I can say is I wished I had went there first as I had spent a fair amount of money and time at this stage . There is free consultation with them and they talk through your various options. After i was happy to go ahead i made appointment and I got partial circumcision operation performed the following week. Really happy with result and highly recommend them. You can ring them for prices but I think it was around 500 or 600 euro mark when i went. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me and good luck

Brilliant. Very reassuring what I read about that clinic. Do you think I should wait till my weight loss is complete or just go see him straight away? I'm thinking bite the bullet.

Other opinions very welcome still on the original post.

Id get it done as sooner rather than later as with me it was really getting me down . Just be aware that you will not be able to go to the gym or do a lot of excercise for a couple of weeks or so till you heal

Best GP's in the city...I know they are not located in your area, but are close to D7.....I've found both Mary and Leonard to be exceptionally attentive, caring, knowledgeable and professional.

Its 60 euro to see them, if you call at 9am, you can usually book an appointment for that day. They are usually very good at seeing you on time, so you could schedule for lunch time if you needed to get back to work etc

    Good luck...Well done on everything

Mate, my story is the EXACT same as yours, with one exception, after the massive weightless, loneliness etc.... I did it.
Met the girl, had the relationship, etc etc, it's a long story. (296lbs at highest, 194lbs at lowest)

But I have truckloads of support/advice I can give on *all* of the above, and some questions for you on how you lost that amount of weight as well.

So many people don't have the drive to pull themselves up out of that hole, but you did. Without even meeting you, you're a total legend.

If you message me your email (or fake email set up just for receiving the mail from me) I'll spill everything! lol

Have a great day, you're so close man, hang in there :)
