Took around 20 minutes, it was pretty handy to do but then I've had a couple if goes at it previously. The guides are fairly comprehensive

Tried KitKat on it last month and was a bit slow and glitchy as its still in testing atm.
Stuck 4.3 on it then instead and was much faster and less sluggish

But its very easy once you have all the files.
This is a good guide :
    KikKat
This replaces the entire storage with KitKat so you will need to backup the Original Nook OS onto the SD as shown and KEEP the Backup file incase something happens.

Have you a guide to downgrade? I've noticed a couple of glitches, mainly screen flickering, wouldn't mind trying out 4.3

i reverted back to the stock nook os and then just installed 4.3 the same way as 4.4 just using the different recovery and files

Haven't had any. The nook is offically supported by CyanogenMod.
What kind of problems are you talking.

Mine was delivered this morning, 9" HD+ 32 GB.
There were a few small marks on the box: bottom right and top.
The tablet looked like it had been taken out of the plastic wrapping, but there are no marks or scratches visible.

Does Cyanogenmod support mean this will get Kit-Kat?
