hello all again, ive a 35hp chrysler electric and pull start engine. the problem is i cant get it to start, now the solenide is gone in it, but ive tried jumping it by connecting the two termanls on the solenide, and there is movement just about it takes everything in it to do a full turn over.
ive tried the pull start but its really tough to get it to turn over too. any ideas what may be the problem?

Try turning it over with the spark plugs out also check that it's not stuck in gear by putting it in neutral and turning the prop.

She was def out of gear when trying and I took one plug out of it at a time to see but not the two together. I'll try that now and I'll get back

Tried that there now with no plugs and it's Turing over like it should. Put back in t plugs and turned over very slowly

It should be very easy to turn by rope with the plugs out with no feeling of compression if it feels like it used to with the plugs in something is wrong. Next I would drop the gearbox to see if the problem is there or in the powerhead.

Is that a big job to drop the gear box or power head? Wat should I look out for? Thanks fergal

It's not a big job as long as it's not stuck:D there should be just 4-5 nuts on the lower leg if you have a little trim a anode there might be one under that "I don't have much experience with Chrysler" :(
