    All,
Just wondering should I be worried about these errors and what do they mean? I probably am near the limit on my noise threshold, so I figure I might be getting some resubmits, but dont want to escalate to vf as they will just throttle back my service.

Do I have this right or do they indicate something else and should I be worried?

    Line standardVDSL2

    Channel type None
    Downstream line rate(kbit/s)25595
    Upstream line rate (kbit/s)7165
    Downstream SNR (dB) 9.3
    Upstream SNR (dB) 8.6
    Downstream line attenuation (dB)21
    Upstream line attenuation (dB)8.4
    Downstream output power (dBmV)12.1
    Upstream output power (dBmV)7.2
    Downstream CRC438
    Upstream CRC2
    Downstream FEC1717246
    Upstream FEC7963

The new firmware downloaded to the VF fibre modems seems to result in different reporting of FEC and CRC error counts. Don't know why this should be but lots of reports of high FEC counts. I did a boot of my modem 8 hours ago and have already clocked up almost 20,000 down and 13,000 upstream FEC errors. Before the firmware update (B214) I had almost no errors reported even over weeks of operation.

No mate, no worries at all. Your SNR is fine and as long as the connection stays up then it's fine.

Correct - nothing to worry about at all

    Great post on a NZ forum which describes (be it 2 years ago) the different terminology and what FEC means;
