That's a pretty damn strong team for Leinster at home to Zebre.
I'll believe Luke's selection when the match starts, but nice to see Ferg get a go at 13.

J McGrath and Cronin getting the week off but loads of quality there.

The bookies have us as 26 point favourites and that's about right. Would be well disappointed if we didn't bag 5 points tonight, in advance of some pretty tough league matches. (Munster at home, Ospreys and Ulster away)

    LEINSTER:
    15. Zane Kirchner
    14. Darragh Fanning
    13. Fergus McFadden
    12. Noel Reid
    11. Luke Fitzgerald
    10. Ian Madigan
    9. Isaac Boss
    1. Michael Bent
    2. Richardt Strauss
    3. Tadhg Furlong
    4. Leo Cullen CAPTAIN
    5. Mike McCarthy
    6. Kevin McLaughlin
    7. Dominic Ryan
    8. Jordi Murphy
    16. Aaron Dundon
    17. Jack O'Connell
    18. Martin Moore
    19. Tom Denton
    20. Shane Jennings
    21. Eoin Reddan
    22. Jimmy Gopperth
    23. Brendan Macken
    Referee: Marius Mitrea (FIR)
Assistant Referees: Kieran Barry, Andy Brace (both IRFU)
    Citing Commissioner: John Cole (IRFU)
    TMO: Kevin Beggs (IRFU)

Zebre missing half a dozen of their internationals apparently, but 5 who played 6 nations are named.

Heading to the game tonight. Looking out the window all day in work and I have a birdseye view of all of Dublin. Sun shining all day... but just as I get ready to leave the clouds gather.... Looks like its gonna be pissy weather tonight.

I'm in Dublin 8 and when I look over to D4 it's nice and sunny all right, but when I look left I can't even see phoenix park it's raining so hard, and it looks like it's heading your way.

Missing the game altogether tonight - will be following on Boards/twitter/Ultimate Rugby/rabo website
while I taxi my kids from sports training to social engagement....

    Not bitter at all...

Well it's chucking it down in Dublin 16, and it's bloody freezing too. Hope it improves before the game - could affect attendance.

I dunno, I can't work up much enthusiasm for this match. Zebre at the best of times, and then Leinster a bit shorn of their stars.

Next week is a different matter...

Enjoy, and don't get too wet those braving the elements!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Italian referee speaking English to Zebre?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

It's Zebre ffs, show some ambition

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Very early but that's 4 penalties in their own 22 already including a blatant killing of the ball at the side.

Very positive start, Furlong looks a future star in the making.

All these penalties must lead to a yellow.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,339 ✭✭✭Artful_Badger

Gonna be an early yellow. Crazy amount of penalties.

That was a pretty embarrassing attempt at a clear out from Bent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,153 ✭✭✭Glass Prison 1214

Poor from Bent, he looked like he was hugging the Zebre player

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,815 ✭✭✭Burgo

    Poor offload from Ferg there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,153 ✭✭✭Glass Prison 1214

Poor attempted tackle by Bent, not a good start for him.

Lenihan talking rubbish, claiming Furlong was ahead of Moore last year, Furlong has never been ahead of Moore.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,339 ✭✭✭Artful_Badger

Leinster just gave up on that one.

Was he not talking about Bent ?

Well he said Moore and Furlong anyway, maybe he said the wrong name?
