    Hi,

    SQL server 2000 database...

    Maybe you can help?!

    DBCC SHOWCONTIG reports the following:
    TABLE level scan performed.
    - Pages Scanned................................: 98839
    - Extents Scanned..............................: 12364
    - Extent Switches..............................: 12363
    - Avg. Pages per Extent........................: 8.0
    - Scan Density [Best Count:Actual Count].......: 99.93% [12355:12364]
    - Extent Scan Fragmentation ...................: 94.55%
    - Avg. Bytes Free per Page.....................: 1062.7
    - Avg. Page Density (full).....................: 86.87%

    Then I execute
DBCC DBREINDEX on the table in question.

There is no improvement in the extenT scan fragmentation... DBCC SHOWCONTIG on the table responds with the exact same details as above...

    I'd appreciate any ideas?
