    Hi guys,

I was doing martial arts a while back and unfortunately I tore my PCL and require surgery on it. Does anyone know how much surgery is and where would be the best place to get it done? I don't have private insurance unfortunately.

Any anecdotes or (non-medical as per charter) advice on knee injuries welcome too.

    Thanks folks

Cost is not cheap, it's in the thousands.

As far as I can tell, http://www.sportssurgeryclinic.com/ is the best regarded clinic in the country for cruciate operations. That's anecdotal though.

If you were injured while training with your club, or in competition, you should be covered by their insurance policy.

Thanks Seamus. I injured it with my club alright but I heard that the Association has a limit to how much it pays out which won't cover the surgery if it's over €2,500. I hope that's a horrible rumour.
