Amazing gym. I took a trial there a month or so back when it opened.
Best equipped gym I've ever set foot in tbh.
I will join when current gym membership expires.

One of the lads from Ironside and some others seem to be running the place.
Wayne Healy has started running some workshops.
That's about the extent of my knowledge on the place...

Only joined last week. I'm a noob when it comes to lifting but it is also the best gym I've ever been inside.

My main gripe with gyms is getting free racks at peak times. So far, I haven't had a problem with this place.

Dropped in today. Very impressive. Seems like a straightforward no bull**** place to get strong. Plenty of racks, platforms and bumpers plus a well equipped 'traditional' weight floor (i.e. benches, machines, etc).

Only minor gripe was the poor condition of the two concept IIs.

I will probably take out a membership.

Picked up a loving social 10 pass deal, went training there last night. Great equipment, like a venice beach gym. The olympic style wracks are great. Seated calf raise. Did some proweler (felt ill after :( )on the astroturf. The equipment is really beyond reproach. Nice chaps there too, friendly. Might do chest and back today there.Only thing is that 60 euro a month is steep, however might be worth it.

    No, it's really not.

The quality of the plates and bars are unlike that of most other gyms, but it'll be lost on most people and they wno't see what they're paying for, unfortunately.

wouldn't describe 60e as "steep" for most decent gyms, especially one that sounds like the above.

"Worth" is relative... For me, Location, price and equipment are the three deciding factors (not necessarily in that order) in a gym - I wouldn't consider SS&F too dear at €60 a month but personally the location doesn't suit... was talking to a friend the other day who is paying a PT €250 a month for two sessions a week in her (the client's) home as well as detailed nutritional plan - and she's never been as happy or looked as well as far as I can tell...

It's all what you get out of it... if SS&F was as handy location-wise as my current gym then I would consider €60 a month a bargain for what they have to offer...

Price is what you pay, value is what you get. I am a true believer in this. However value when it come to gym membership is a personal thing, Different people have different requirements and value different aspects of the gym "experiance".

I wish the owners all the best, its a fantastic facility deserving of a look by all the health and fitness people on here. I know they are not appealing to the mass market. I may very well join.

That sled track looks great, they have one in the gym I go to but they're really picky about people using it (UCC teams only etc).

Anyone redeemed one of these deals yet Lads/Lassies?

Was planning in going today but can't get an answer on the number provided... reckon if I just drop up there'll be no problem getting in to train?

Looks fantastic. If I hadn't paid upfront for the year in westwood, I'd be joining straight away.

Seems like the kind of place that will keep you motivated by the dedication of the members around you, and that's such an important factor in making progress.
