The Sun's Breast-Cancer Awareness Campaign

The Sun newspaper, whose Ireland edition no longer carries the Page 3 topless model feature, recently launched a campaign called "Check 'Em Tuesday" to raise awareness of breast cancer.

How credible can such a campaign be, given The Sun's history and culture?

Two features in reaction from the No More Page 3 campaign here:

It's a dumb answer to a campaign that is just as dumb (drop the page 3 not the breast cancer awareness). But it will keep annoying people occupied with Sun and away from topics where they can actually do some damage.

I await the Feel 'Em On Friday campaign to raise awareness of testicular cancer with bated breath.

It's only fair they cover both genders. A sort of tits for tat.

I'm loathe to criticise anything that encourages people to check themselves for cancer.

That said, I wish there was more focus on the symptoms of other cancers, such as ovarian and cervical cancer.
