GW30 Matchday Thread

My team for the week:

Mannone
Ivan Terry Coleman
Lallana Nolan Hazard Mata
Lukaku Suarez Sturridge

Adrian, Noone, Ward, Vidic.

Adrian or Mannone was an easy choice. Two rivals have Mannone and I'm working on closing leagues out so it had to be him in goals.

The -4 for Lukaku wasn't ideal but that was due to my own impatience regarding Aguero. Second time I've been burned by him this season so I really should learn.

I thought about going for Rooney but United just aren't playing well. If Smalling starts central tomorrow, I wouldn't like to be a United fan watching him up against SAS.

Next week planned transfers are Lallana to Gerrard and Ivan to Kompany. Will leave me with ten DGWers.

And don't forget the cups are on today folks. I hope to close out my tie to move into the last 8 of the FSA Champions Cup.

Also having made the Aguero blunder I ended up with a totally different plan than anticipated. Having finally managed to bank a transfer last week I went and wasted it and end up with a hit.

Going against against the flow on lukaku but did just back him for a hat trick just in case.

Who'd you captain btw Lemlin?

Lukaku captain. He's let me down twice before but maybe it's 3rd time lucky.
I now have to decide on who will be my 3rd defender. Koscielny, Demel or Ward.

I'm leaning away from Ward because it's impossible to know what kind of Sunderland team will turn up against him.
Demel is in at the moment but I'm thinking Koscielny because Spurs are in a bit of a shambles at the moment and Arsenal are on the back of two decent performances against Everton and Bayern.

Any advice appreciated.

Regards the Lallana to Gerrard transfer...
Would you consider Mata to Gerrard instead? United have West Ham away and City at home next week. Lallana had Spurs away. Lallana is well capable of scoring against Spurs and I wouldn't be overly confident of Mata scoring or assisting in either of his two games. It's something I'm considering anyway and maybe you think it's crazy but it's possible food for thought.
That will also allow me bring in Baines rather than Coleman.

Mata is only being kept because they have a double. I plan to go Mata to Yaya for GW32.

It's on Suarez at the minute. I'm happy enough just to have Lukaku. I captained him twice earlier in the season and he didn't deliver.

You also have to realise I'm closing out leagues. Suarez is the one player who hurt me badly before when I didn't captain him vs Spurs. IMO if he can score well against Saints away, he can score well against a United team whose recent results have just been papering over the cracks.

My recent captain picks have been diabolical by the way. It's been weeks since I got one right.

On Lukaku as captain now. Haven't had luck captaining him before so I'm tempted to change to Hazard or Suárez.

Next week I'll probably do Azpi to Skrtel or perhaps Williamson or double up on Everton defense with Distin and change Mata to Gerard. Bit of an over reliance on the Merseyside clubs though.

Went for Zab instead of Kompany at the last minute due to price. Let my team value drop a bit so need to keep something in the bank for next week, hopefully he plays!

In general though, I'd have Yaya over Mata every day of the week. Not impressed with Mata at all at United, doesnt look a goal threat, not a cert for set-pieces either with RVP, Rooney around.

I've already moved him on for Yaya, and plan to get Gerrard or Sterling in aswell for DGW.

Not expecting clean sheet from McGregor, but wouldn't mind him making 12 saves to make it up.
Few days ago said that Suarez against United can outscore everyone, but Everton's fixture is to tempting not to captain Lukaku. Dodgy goal and another dodgy assist will do.

4 point hit this week after Aguero in for Ade earlier in the week. I also went Ince to Nolan to use up my second free transfer and now have had to go Aguero to Lukaku. Next week the plan is Ivan to Kompany and Lallana to Gerrard.

I'd actually go Yaya over Gerrard tbh but my rival has Gerrard so it's a way of cancelling out one of his differentials with my 60 point lead.

I wish the blank game weeks never happened. My last three transfers have all been disasters.
