Okey this is what im thinking of betting on in tomorrows card any thoughts:

Cant see Faugheen losing in the first
thinking sam winner each way in the second
    Dunguib in the third
sizing europe each way in the 4th
and baltazar king in race five.

The most over priced horse of the day. Have backed Orgilgo Bay at 33s for the Fred Winter. Beat Clarcam off levels when comfortably winning his hurdling debut on decent ground. Receives 6lbs from him tomorrow, expect a different horse than the one beaten last twice back on good going

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Think Faugheen will hack up.

Cant have Red Sherlock, dont rancy Mullin' other yolk or Royal Boy. Just cant find anything worth taking him on.

    Is Faugheen a lump job?

Just had a decent size bet on Carlingford Lough tomorrow, love the horse. I 1st backed him in Galway in 2012 i think, and have followed him ever since.

Only 3 catch my eye tomorrow namely Dunguib Red sherlock and Balthazar king.

Nice to see McCoy taking the ride on definitely red tomorrow. Can't imagine the 25's will last much longer on this severely overpriced horse

Captain Conan might be the bet of the festival

    His price is shocking!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,956 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

My festival NAP Big Shu in the cross country has drifted out to as much as 5/1 and I have gone in again on him. Unless it falls, I just cannot see it finishing out of the places, so it can be done EW for small profit even if it only places.

For the bumper I already had my horse (Golantilla at 16/1) picked out on the Antepost market. If there was ever a plot horse in this festival, then this is surely it. Everything I have see from this horse and Tony Martin and some people who know a bit about the yard suggests that this horse is going to put in a very good performance tomorrow.

Also have Clondaw Kaempfer in the Coral Cup. Horse hated the poor ground that it has run over during the Winter and noises from McCain's suggest that conditions should actually suit tomorrow. Have been watching this one for awhile though and for me with good ground tomorrow, it's in the last chance saloon if it's going to deliver.

Trixie (10 stake) to win €14,175 - feel that my fancies tomorrow are my strongest conviction picks of the festival.

Corrin wood in the RSA chase, if you look a this horse last race, it jumps like a stag, beautiful to watch, if it jumps like that tomorrow then it should take home the money e/w 10/1 . don't fancy anything else at moment, Good luck everyone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,227 ✭✭✭qwabercd

    Faugheen
    Kaylif Aramis
    Wishfull thinking (AP at 33/1)
    Big Shu
Astre De La Cour (really really like 28s here on Coral)
    Value at risk

Finding it difficult to make a pick in the RSA. Have a small AP bet on Ballycasey. Think i might add Smad Place to the team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Well be backing Ballycasey at 6/1. Was very impressed with the way he went about things last month, I think 6/1 is a great price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,884 ✭✭✭✭Rock Lesnar

I might have a few euro each way on Lieutenent Colonel in the 1st, roughly 5 lengths 2nd to Vautour and 4 lengths 2nd to wicklow brave looks good form after today.

Rule Supreme fell in his Leopardstown schooling before going on to win the 2004 RSA for Mullins.

Its not ideal but he can still win after it.

If you do a lucky 15 with Paddy Power and you only get 1 winner, you get double the odds. So if Big Shu wins at 5/1 for example, you'll get back 2/3rds of your stake. Since it's Cheltenham, I would also whack all those selections into a €2 accumulator, just in case.

    Big Shu @ 9/2
    Captain Conan @ 5/1
    Dell' Arca @ 12/1 e/w
    Carlingford Lough @ 8/1 e/w
    Faugheen @ 9/4
    Katgary @ 9/1 e/w

Small Mullins Tricast in the last for divilment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭NaiveMelodies

Don Cossack- biggest bet of the week, so much ability lets hope he relishes the trip.

Have Killulltagh Vic and backed Golantilla a while back- very hopeful the former can give me a good run for my money, lovely turn of gears LTO. Can't see Golantilla improving the required amount but still have a tiny bit of hope.

Captain Conan/Wishful thinking in the Champion Chase.

    Best of luck.

Has anybody else got an eye on annacotty in the rsa
    Looking through its form
He has beat present view (won listed handicap today)giving away 5 pounds
2 starts ago blinkers went on and he beat green flag who ran 4th In another race and last time out was only just beat by Indian castle giving him weight.
I think he will be best of the English but can't compare to the irish

A lot of people think he is past it but I don't .
Bad ride the last day in bad ground and the race before that was 3 miles and he never got 3 miles.
On his first start of the season he beat bailey green which is fair enough but he is a better horse at cheltenham on the good ground and I think he has a massive chance because of the lack of star quality in this field

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Utter guesswork really

    1.30 4 - Royal Boy
    2.05 1 - Ballycasey
    2.40 22 - Bayan
    3.20 7 - Sire De Grugy
    4.00 1 - Balthazar King
    4.40 13 - Katgary
    5.15 17 - Value At Risk

Personally I've asked myself 2 questions on this race. What's it going to take to win it. Probably a run to 169 would do the job. Which horses have the capability of reaching a rating like that tomorrow unexposed - horses which is very little of the field, potentially captain Conan marginally unexposed, hinterland, special tiara, module.
I can't See any of them running to 169 tomorrow.
Exposed horses that could potentially run to that rating - Sir D'grugy and Sizing Europe. I laughed at the SDG price
Of 9/4 but when you start to go through the race even discounting the fact it's not his fav track I am left with him and sizing Europe. SE ran over trips that didn't suit with tactics that didn't suit and ground that didn't suit at tracks where he has never shown his best all season.
I personally think its between these 2 tomorrow and at the prices and considering the conditions I think we could be on for shock veteran result
    Tomorrow

Thanks for that, i think this has been aim all year so at 12/1 hes one i may go with, as nothing else really stands out

12 year olds don't win championship races.

He may place seeing as it's a poor renewal, still doubt it though.
