Think Scotland will put in a good show here

For a moment there I was wondering why they were playing Ireland's Call in Murrayfield.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 10,088 Mod ✭✭✭✭marco_polo

I think this could be a decent game.

Every time I have thought that before a game in Murrayfield in recent years it has been a stinker though :p

George Ham seems to have won. R.I.P Hugh. You were better on Newstalk.

C'mon Scotland, the French having nothing to play for next week can only be a good thing for us

    Scotlands kit is horrible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 489 ✭✭petebricquette

Scotland looking like Italy in the kit. Awful.

    Pitch in an awful state.

    Like the ref's microphone.

It looks 10 times better than it was against England.

Hating the jerseys. If a team's going to play in dark blue surely it should be Scotland.

    Scotland stand ridiculously deep

Home team always wears the alternate colours when there's a clash in international rugby.

    Comical commentating though

If France hammer Scotland, they still have an outside chance of the title when we go to Paris.

the ref's microphone reminds me of the days back in the early 90s when george Hamilton used to commentate the french games via telephone .....with the french minester of defence braking through half way through the second half as he tries to broker an arms deal with the russians behind the americans back............ah the memories!!!!

    That's a try, I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,658 ✭✭✭Kanrith

    Yep try awarded.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

If Mermoz had played a pass inside on France's last attack they had a try.

Hard to call that, Huget might have touched it.

    EDIT: Try given!

They didnt spend too long checking that. I think Huget got a hand to it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 911 ✭✭✭Irlandczyk

Looked for all the world that Huget got his finger on that one. Not sure about that try, I'll take it though. So far, so good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,026 ✭✭✭B0X

    Surely Huget got that.

    is Fofana injured?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 967 ✭✭✭Anatidaephobia

I though that ball went forward from the other Scottish player.

    is Fofana injured?

    Aye, I believe so.

You don't drop him, he's pure class. Bastareaud is generally poor for France.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,541 ✭✭✭Davei141

Scotland are smashing the French in tackles, bodes well for a competitive match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,619 ✭✭✭✭errlloyd

I'm pretty sure hogg has to signal Edinburgh air traffic control before smashing up those kicks. They're huge

Bastereud had to be guided up the Firth of Forth by tugboat on Thursday night.

    Hint of obstruction?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

Been a good contest so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 911 ✭✭✭Irlandczyk

That was an absolute beauty of a try. Great hands. Scotland just need to keep their discipline and stop handing France 3 pointers now and they're set.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

I've said it before but Pape is an awful, awful player.

France looking disorganised. Not much in the way of obstruction for me. BBC now saying that Plisson should have started playacting to make more of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Was a lovely try by Seymour, France have been poor. As per usual.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,238 ✭✭✭✭Diabhal Beag

France sure love to win lineouts

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭keith16

Excellent play from Scotland. Good to see them doing well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Laidlaw with a come and have a go to Huget. Go on wee man.

I would have thought scotland would have sorted their mac maggot problem pitch in sh1t again. Good game if france lose they will be looking to put right a wrong next weekend against us.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,718 ✭✭✭Taco Corp

that's a ridiculous pen call against scotland in the scrum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

This really isn't a great game; we will kill France.

They're getting a new pitch. Same one as Aviva and Twickenham I think

2 terrible calls from Pollock in a row thankfully doesn't result in anything. "Hes jumped back into it" I've just looked at it about 5 times and hes talking out of his hoop, as per usual.
