Flyefit Baggot St/Ralenagh/Macken St

    Hey guys,

Was just looking for any thoughts on Flyefit in Dublin.

It's quite cheap, was thinking of joining. The locations are all handy for me – I live in Donnybrook, and work off Fenian St, so could pass any branch on the way to/from work without deviating too much.

I'm a gym noob really, haven't exercised consistently in a long time. I'd be looking to improve my fitness in general, and lose a bit of weight, while building some more muscle.

From what it looks like, Baggot St seems to have no free weights section, is that correct?

How busy would the different branches be in the evenings, bout 6pm?

    Thanks

The Macken St gym is ridiculously busy at that time. I tend to go late just so I have free use of the areas I need.

Great value though I must say.

Every gym is busy at 6pm. Have trained in Macken St. and it's got a pretty good setup. Wouldn't hesitate to join if I weren't already somewhere else.

baggot st does have a free weights section.
I moved there from energie on clarendon st - have to say I am very happy with the move, better weights section and much cleaner / newer change rooms and the staff aren't a*seholes.

Know this is an old post but just gave flye fit ranelagh a go today on a day pass and have to say I was very disappointed. Free weights area is small, there's only one bench press station and no where to really dead lift, one squat rack too that was taken up by guys chinning while I was there.

Weird foody smell in the place too which must be coming from the kitchens in the Supervalu downstairs

While I was there a group of guys came in and once of the gym staff was coaching them on some dead lifts with really bad form - normally don't say anything about stuff like that and I'd never be one of those dudes who goes around correcting people's form - but he had them hitching their back the whole way, surprised none of them got hurt.

It was pretty hot and muggy in there too and the place was half empty and not too hot outside wouldn't fancy being there during peak times.

It's cheap as chips and the 24 hour thing is cool but that's about all it has going for it.

What do people think of their rap adverts on the radio?

Ranelagh was just renovated, or they just did some improvements. My mate who trains there says they really screwed it over. Macken street is way better.
