I moved a couple of shelves around on the bookcases and am starting to get them the way I want them now. Everything lined up rather than piled up!

Only problem now, you can't see what each snes game is so going to have to come up with a solution for that.

Proper picture of the AV setup. Not going to stop until I have a wall of CRTs :D

I know there's a ban on the overuse of gifs, but....

I still have that black melamine for you by the way o1s1n.

I'm back in work on Monday so could meet you in town or Dun Laoghaire one of the days!

    I'm jealous, great looking setup.

My girlfriend is vehemently opposed to anything "retro" looking in our apartment, granted we don't have much space, and I don't have my own "man-cave". I really need to get a Framemeister or SLG-All-In-One.

Excellent! I was only thinking I should really sort that when looking at this photos :D

I've to meet one of the lads here to pick up an arcade stick in town during the week so could meet yourself while I'm in there too.

Oh no! Not another man under the thumb :(

You guys all need to get together and have some kind of revolt! :D

In fairness, I got a good deal with this one. We went to Barcelona last year, and paid a visit to the old Namco Station. I seriously couldn't tear her away for the life of me (yep, I was trying to leave Namco Station). We're heading to Japan in a few months, so it's nice to know that I can spend a tonne of time in arcades :P

If a bar top is even too big for your gaff, you should consider getting the icade core for £20 delivered, if you have an iPad or 10" android tablet.

Load up mame4ios / mame4droid on that baby, enable scanlines and enjoy arcade heaven!

At some point we'll get a bigger place, so I'll definitely be looking into a MAME cabinet.

I'm actually in between tablets right now, waiting until Google refresh their Nexus 10 (whether that's a new Nexus 10, or Nexus 8). I'll definitely keep it in mind, looks great!

If I was going to get an android tablet it would definitely be the Nexus 10.
Love the stock android experience on the Moto G.

Here's my first test with the iCade:

I think the scanlines arent enabled there.

I recorded a vid of nba jam 93 too, if anyone is interested in seeing it I can upload it and post it in General Chat.

Sorry for spamming the thread about arcade emulation! :/

    I get that a lot! :D

Bought it from a lad in Germany who does up Amigas. It was either new old stock or else he retrobrights them.

I don't think its retrobright though as it just looks far too minty overall

Could you store the Snes carts on their sides o1s1n? At least then the end labels will be visible?

That would be ideal if not for one thing, PAL snes games don't have end labels! :(

    cartslot.jpg

It's one area where NTSC ones are vastly superior. Even PAL NES games have them!

Ah! Rookie error on my part, totally forgot about pal carts not having them. Hmm, what about getting one of those little printer machines & making your own end labels? They peel off & aren't permanent. Or else print small little numbers, & put them on the side of the carts so 1, 2, 3 etc - & then have a page with what game each number is or something along those lines?

Printing off my own end labels would definitely be a solution alright - but I think the collector in me would wince at sticking things to carts :o

I might just go the universal game case route. If you buy them in bulk the overall cost is pretty pricey, but they're not too bad per unit.

Sell them all and go boxed NTSC or really go crackers and get all boxed pal replacements. Surely you see there's no other way Jessie, or I mean o1s1n.

The Amiga 600 and 1200 seems quite good at keeping it's whiteness in general. I've seen quite a few that look good as new without needing a cleanup.
Usually it's the buttons that get yellowed before the case.

A friend of mine just has card dividers separating them alphabetically, just simple pieces of card, a little wider than the cartridge, so it extends out past the cartridge so he can see the letter. Still need to do a bit of digging, but does make it a lot easier. You could even do it by series instead of letter.

I'm sure someone could knock a few of these together for SNES/N64.28s0nzq.jpg

Guys do any of you know of a good storage box or rack that fits standard sized PS1 games perfectly?

Is there anything suited exactly for that purpose?

I don't plan on putting them on shelves, just something that can hold them like a cd rack or something.

I want to be able to see the side labels with the names of the games easily.

Best bet is probably those wooden CD storage towers?
