    Shít.

Didn't realise it was pancake Tuesday today. I've not got much in the presses to make pancakes this evening.

I feel like it really crêped up on me this year.

I'll have to abstain from tossing this evening.

Nice one, had no idea either. Must mark it in my calendar so that I don't forget, is it always the first Tuesday of March?

    Let the recipes commence...

Do like me and have a banana.

If I wanted to eat fried batter with my coffee I'd change my name to Rab and move to Glasgow.

Healthy pancakes, why would anyone subject themselves to that?

Today is the day you pig out and don't feel guilty about it, similar to Christmas and Halloween.

So, I did a bit of googling. Pancake Tuesday is the always day before the 40 days of Easter. Easter occurs on the first Sunday following the first full moon that occurs on or after the day of the vernal equinox (the first day of spring). Pretty straight forward

I will be abstaining from the subliminal religious control of pancakes actually.

It's something I haven't celebrated in years. By the time I realise what day it is, it's too late to get the stuff (going to work now and won't be home 'till about 10pm. Boo.)

it is. your theory is correct(ish)
    only lent isn't 40days.
The 40days of lent doesn't include the sundays.

In the spirit of AH and Pancake / Shrove Tuesday, how do ye eat yizzer pancakes?

AH Answer: I eat mine from a hookers navel

    Real Answer:

With chocolate spread and / or lumps of Dairy Milk or with fried streaky bacon and maple syrup or with sugar and lemon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Holsten

I'd have them sweet only, savory makes me wanna puke.

Maple syrup, powered sugar, nutella, etc..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,808 ✭✭✭FatherLen

    with more pancakes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 358 ✭✭WellThen?

Nutella and strawberries like everyone else

    My favourite:

Thin batter (like a crepe). Pour into big pan with a load of Galaxy Counters, and then you have the chocolate mixed into the pancake itself.

Heartattack on a pan, but oh so good.

Lemon juice and sugar like normal people

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 824 ✭✭✭magicmushroom

Breakfast: American style with bacon and lots of maple syrup, like to add a few fried mushrooms on the side too

Sweet: Warmed with Nutella and sliced Banana, maybe a dollop whipped cream if there's any lurking around

With a little bit of butter & strawberry jam. Or just lemon juice, very small amount of sugar.
