For me, it's a union suit. One of these:

    Thermals-R6453.jpg

Given to me as a secret santa gag gift & worn during the snowy season a couple of years ago. Incredibly warm & comfortable & yes it does have a flap in the back. :D

I thought I had a gorilla suit hanging on the wall, but it turns out it's just a mirror.

A floor length red velvet cape, something like this:

    http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=

It was part of a bridesmaids outfit for a winter wedding. I looked ridiculous in it.
It's come in handy for Hallowe'en a few times though.

I think I devalued it when I got the lining redone so I could keep wearing it. I thought it was just an older biker jacket from the 60s but the guy doing it said it was really old. I went and checked it out and it turned out to be what I said.

Can't remember all the details but due to the make of the zips and maker the year could be identified. It has many memories for me as I have it 20 years myself. The originally lining was an indicator too because the green lining meant it was used in the tanks as opposed to the planes. Who ever originally owned it put in an extra leather patch so the collar could be warn up.

A willy warmer, it is designed like a horse and you can put your willy into it and if you reach the bottom there is a sensor that will make horse sounds.

Also a t-shirt from an irish historical society with a print of a 16th century helmet and axe on the back with quotes from the annals

A tie between my riot helmet, my gas mask or my reversable brown and black woolen poncho-style wrap.

Yea it's all about the zips I gather. Many/most of those German jackets were local unit custom purchases, same for the airforce guys. The designs varied a lot and the lining could vary too, I've seen all sorts of linings including some lurid fancy ones(gold silk and shít). Yours could have been a flyers one. We sometimes forget those guys were all youngfellas, barely out of their teens and as youngfellas can be, fashion/style conscious. Especially considering their jobs. "Ohhh I drive a new Turbo GTi". "That's nice for ya I'm sure pal, but I drive a fcuking Panzer/Spitfire. Hellooooo ladies". :D

A few years ago I turned down a 1940 luftwaffe one in brown for feck all money. Like penney's best cheap arse denim jacket money. Even had the history of the lad who wore it. Rear gunner in a stuka. Apparently they had spotted some shop in France(when on Adolfs european tour) with a "cyclists jacket"(no, not a motorcylists funny enough) in the window, went in and promptly put in an order for ten of the yokes in different sizes, with added epaulettes for their unit colours. The shopkeeper was well happy I gathered. Amazing condition and perfect size for me too. I really don't know what da fuq I was thinking. I think I was reckoning I was too old for a biker type leather jacket. I still wear the scars from where I kicked myself repeatedly.

I'd say the lining change would mean little RP. After all it's all part of it's long history. Bloody fantastic you're still rocking it today. :) Worth a few bob no doubt, but worth far more to you. Cool.
