I think yer getting too trigger happy with new game week threads. At least let a match begin for gameweek 28.

Kos out for someone, don't plan on any other transfers but it should leave me with 11

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

On present form, and assuming no injuries, Gabbidon to Ward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,397 ✭✭✭OneColdHand

Sagna out for someone. Have 0.6, so will probably go for a Chelsea player.

Have 2 FTs, so not sure who the other one will be yet. Will probably be a midfield transfer.

Mertesacker out for someone who plays next GW and also has a double.

Think it'll have to be someone from United.

Oh, yeah, a united defender would be a good call. I would possibly actually save some money that I could then put into midfield.

A united defender? Is one of the DGW not against City?
I wouldn't be too confident of United's chances after that farce of a game I watched Tuesday night tbh.

Baines or kos to dann. Part of my move towards cheap as chips defence and all out attack.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,195 ✭✭✭irish son

Kos out, probably a Crystal Palace defender in, it'll save some money I'll need for Aguero in a few weeks.

It'll leave me with 8 players next week.

Need a keeper, was happy enough going without one for next week, but looking at Szczesnys fixtures, blank, Tottenham (A), Chelsea (A),Man City (H), Everton (A), I might be as well swapping. Anyone standing out for the next 5-6 gameweeks?

I suppose I should be looking at someone with a game next week and a double in gameweek 31, with some decent fixtures.

Speroni is probably your best bet.

Speroni is probably your best bet.

Looks like it'll be a choice between him, Ruddy and Mannone. Mannone second game in GW is against Liverpool so that probably nullifies the DGW for him

mannone doesnt play next week either. DDG and speroni are the two keepers that play next week and will have a double. If you go without a keeper next week Id say mannone and hart are the best 2 options as they will have 3 dgws between gw 31 and the end of the season.

Don't know how I got mixed up with Mannone, Thanks.
Maybe I'll just play without a keeper next week and pick one with the best fixtures after that. Not much movement in GK prices so have a good while to weigh up the options

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,268 ✭✭✭IsMiseMyself

Eyeing up Kos to Evra maybe. Also miiiiiight bring in Ruddy for Mannone. Norwich have a pretty easy run coming up and I feel like Sunderland are on a downward spiral. Either way, as it is I'll field either 9 or 10 next week.

    Koscielny for a United defender.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 311 ✭✭GillespieRoad

Lallana and Jedinak for Miralles and Morrison.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 190 ✭✭IanOBo

Looking at RVP and Lallana in for Suarez and Cazorla.

Please note that without these two I would only have four players.
I saw somewhere else on this forum say that if you get your captain right, then you can get away with missing a few players. I am hopeful.

    Any advice?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 311 ✭✭GillespieRoad

    Smalling(gmwk 29 + dgwk 31) for Koscielny
    Lallana for Mirallas
    Jedinak for Morrison

Totals to -8 ,Currently have 5 playing for next week, would leave me with 8 if transfers made. Is it worth it?

Begovic. Norwich away, west ham home, villa away, hull home

    Ade in for Giroud.

Still sticking to original plan, Mertesacker out for Evra.

Mata is going to drop in value tonight/tomorrow night. Not planning on dumping him until after GW29, hopefully he doesn't drop again or it makes a mess of my plans.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

Right, I have a free transfer this week, would rather not use it, but needs might must.

    Soooooooooo.

Any suggestions for an attacking defender, to the value of 4-5 mil, who will also be playing twice in GW31?

This is to replace Williamson, and giving me 10 players.

My other transfer will be determined by Crystal Palace tomorrow, Gabbidon should he not play, to Ward.

I would advise against selling Suarez. I would sell Cazorla.

    DON'T SELL SUAREZ.

I tried it this week and I've already made plans to get him back in in two weeks time. Making one change for 29.

Kinda glad that GW29 gives me a "half-break" if you will, so I can sort my team out. Will have it back in running order and plan to have 8 players playing twice for 31. Onwards!

Woah, before you even consider selling Suarez, make sure you can afford to buy him back.

After todays return to form performance, never dismiss him.

If he's going up to RvP then he can get him back. Not worth the two transfers though unless RvP goes nuts against WBA.

who to captain nxt week. Mata,Lallana, Hazard or Ade.

Yes. But he may want to take into account what he is selling him for, compared to his current value.

Since his GW 1. Since he cost like 10.5 mil. I actually didn't even realise how dear he is until I started looking into getting him back. I was thinking 12.whatever because that's what his price has been in my team for so long.

And yeah, I can afford him. Just a matter of downgrading Mata. Currently planning to bring Aguero into the fold too though, so will likely end up running with Ageuro, Ade, and Suarez up front. It was an unbelievably stupid move on my part, but hey **** happens.

Just noticed the only player who remotely fits that description would be from M Utd.

    :(

Need a defender to replace either Colman or Skrtel (or can get rid of both for a 4 point hit), currently have 8 players for next game week, Other than a united defender who would be the best buy to get - I have bruce (keeping for DGW), evra, azpill. would I be crazy looking at another united defender?, If the Everton/Palace match was scheduled for GW 31 then I'd bring in a palace defender but still no decision made on that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,255 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

Is any defender safe for United other than Evra? I see Smalling is 5.1 and has started the last run of games but is that to cover injury?

Evra is 6.4 and I don't think I can justify that price for a defender priced on the basis he's playing for a top four team. He may be priced like that but United aren't playing like it.

De Gea is 5.7 if you want the potential defensive points. I wouldn't spend 0.7 more on Evra, don't think he'll score any more

    Adam in for Colback leaves me with 8 playing and 1 FT left. Im going to bank that and use it next week for Mata, Adam, J Rod out, Yaya Gerrard and the cheapest playing stricker I can find. That will leave me with 5 Double game weekers and a team;

    Marshal

    Coleman Terry Kos

    Yaya Gerrard Hazard Lallana Nolan

    Suarez Sturridge

    (Demel, Ward, New St)

With Marshal Coming out after GW 30 For Jaskalinin (sp?) To move to 7 double game weekers to make up ground for only playing 8 this week.

I'm happy with my two keepers Adrian and Mannone, even though I'll be going without a keeper next week.

Not happy to keep Mertesacker. Arsenal usually implode around now and they have a tough run and no scheduled DGW.

Considering a move to one of these two as well. Evra though, based on players values may prevent me getting back in Yaya, and bringing in Nolan for the DGW.

Evra is very expensive for a defender in a United team who aren't playing well.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Just wonder who might have the potential to score more over the 4 matches in 3 GWs, as current plans would be to get rid of again after GW31.

I might take a chance on Smalling. If he doesn't play, so be it. Really don't know if I can justify that price on Evra.

May go for Smalling myself, has started pretty much every game of the last 10.

If i take a 4 point hit this week and another 4 point hit the following week, could end up with this:
    Adrian
    Williams Collins Azpil and Bruce/Baker
    Ozil Yaya Hazard
    RVP Suarez Aguero

Think the weak defense is worth it for that front 6

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

RE Evra - my thinking is as follows. With a team value of £114m (which is not the highest here) I can justify having more expensive defenders. The most important question for me is not is he worth £6.4m - it's can I use this cash better elsewhere? Based on my planned transfers, the answer to that is no.
    • Should be guaranteed to play every game from now until the end
    • He plays in GW29, where I would hope they will be favs to keep a clean sheet
    • He has a double in GW31, and while I don't expect him to keep a CS against City he will be massively up for that game as its a derby, and after City thumping them 6-1 two seasons back they will be cautious of a repeat. United's season is all but over but they can still f**k it up for City.
    • Along with Terry I would rate Evra as one of the most attacking defenders in the league. Joint second on assists this season and is actually underperforming compared to last season.
    • Which leads onto his fixtures following GW31: Villa (H), Newcastle (A), Hull (H), Everton (A), Norwich (H), Sunderland (H), Southampton (A). All the one's in bold I United will be fav to keep a clean sheet. And when United United keep a clean sheet Evra is practically guaranteed BP's - he's joint 4th in terms of BP's this season despite United not keeping as many clean sheets as Chelsea/Arsenal etc.

I'll almost certainly be getting Evra in and will have a backline of Azpil, Kompany, Coleman and Evra which will likely see me out for the end of season run in. Midfield will include Hazard, Lallana and Gerrard or Yaya, and a front three of Suarez, Sturridge and Aguero. That's a cracking 4-3-3 which I don't think is being sacrificed by Evra!

I'd prefer to have no Evra and the 4 mids you mentioned which should be possible. Though those United fixtures look good alright. I'm just not convinced in the top defences enough to play 4-3-3 instead of 3-4-3

Yesterday told me that! I'm playing 4 at the back this week.

Yeah I doubled up on Chelsea along with Mert and Coleman. Could very easily have been 4 clean sheets. I think Evra is worth the punt and if he does score (which he's well capable of) then I reap the rewards! I'll likely choose between Yaya and Gerrard. Might even do Gerrard for the DGW then swap out for Yaya.

Think I'll pick Gerrard over YaYa for the DGW...

Then looking at gettign Nolan in for Lallana which should then allow me to get Aguero in.
