about twenty alarms, my bf ringing or texting to get the **** up, cats wailing, dog barking, i still struggle to get out of the bed though :o
i usually lay there thinking about ringing in sick for ten minutes before the poverty finally gets me up.

You have 20 alarms, a phone, cats, a dog, and that's poverty?

I'm sure you're going to be disappointed; I won't be making a habit of it. Sorry to extinguish your glee there.

I usually cajole myself out of bed and out the door by telling myself I'll be back in 9 - 10 hours and free to hop the fcuk back into my warm comfy bed and forget about the cold, unfriendly world.

After 3 - 4 coffees and a bit of office banter I'm grand though, and invariably stay up way too late and get way too little sleep so I'm an even crankier mess the next morning.

I think this is how homicides happen.

    Self loathing.

The only reason I got up today was because I got a text, it was 7pm and dark outside and i felt like **** so I forced myself to sit up.

Would have easily slept for another few hours if I wasnt forced to reach for my phone and see the time.

If you make sleeping during daylight and being awake during darkness a regular thing, that won't do you any good in any case. Don't want to sound patronising - you probably have other stuff going on so my apologies and hope you'e alright.

yeah I'm well aware at this stage. Been doing this for a number of years now.

I just cant sleep early, I reset my sleeping pattern often by skipping a night and im good for 2-3 days with being in bed early then it just all goes downhill again.

could be laying in bed at 5am and feel absolutely 0 desire to sleep. I just cant get comfortable. Come 7 or 8am and im fine.

Thing is when I do finally fall asleep I'll stay in bed for a good 12 hours. I may wake up 5 -8 times during this sleep, and everytime im just so physcially exhausted I cant push myself to get up.

To state the obvious again, this requires more than you trying yourself to fix it. You can't go on like this (even if it's been years) It may seem really impossible but I guess it's about keeping consistent to the very minute when it comes to going to sleep and wake up times, for as long as it takes weeks months to get things back to normal. The body isn't an enemy it's just complicated. Get some medical assistance too.

    Yeeeaaaah whateva!!!

Obligation. I have to travel an hour half way across the city to teach a class for an hour then all the way home again (then off again in the afternoon). Grand once I get there but it's a hellish commute for 18 Euro.
