All Ireland Giants Live Qualifier 2014

    Saturday 22nd February at the GameOn 3G Indoor Arena in Randalstown was fast, powerful, joyful,exciting and more - what was it that caused all these mixed emotions within theone day?

    It was the Renegade Strongman run All Ireland Qualifier for the prestigious Giants Live Series. Giants Live is a qualifying tour for entry toThe World's Strongest Man.

    The events contested were:

    1. Duck walk 225kg for10m & Sled Drag 10m.
    2. Giant Log press forMaximum weight. 125kg starting weight.
    3. Ireland stone175kg for maximum distance.
    4. Axle Deadlift forreps -312.5kg. Suits and Straps allowed.
    5. Atlas Stone 160kgfor reps.
    6. Monster farmers - 130kg each hand for 60m.

    The event was organised by Dave Warner & Damien St.Ledger of Renegade Strongman.

    The event was over and we now had our All Ireland Giants Live 2014 Champion.

    This was a very fast paced and heavy competition, thestandard was very high as can be seen from the depth of talent on display.

    5 athletes either won or were joint first in an event.
    2 athletes won two events.
    2.5 points separated 1st and 4th.

    This event report just gives you the facts as they are itcannot convey how intense the competition was - how just 1 rep on an eventcould have changed the overall standings.

    This is why we expect to see these athletes back again nextyear to see who will be crowned All Ireland Giants Live 2015 champion.
