Might as well kick this off.....

Lots of cups on this weekend. A few still left in the main cup competition and the Boards.ie CL, Europa League and Intertoto all move into the last 16 (or 15 as it were in one!).

    My team for the week:

    Adrian
    Terry Ivanovic Mertesacker
    Lallana Yaya Hazard Mata
    Sturridge Suarez (c) Ade

    Mannone, Coleman, Noone, Ward.

I have no expectation of Chelsea keeping a clean sheet. It'll be a massive bonus if they do. I'm playing both Terry and Ivanovic in the hope one might nick a goal.

Of course, I'm taking a chance because Coleman may also score but I checked the odds and Chelsea are evens for a clean sheet, Everton are 9/2. That decided it for me.

I was glad of the break for the last while. Made no transfers this week. Need a couple of big weeks now to reignite my season.

Stupidly sold Adebayor a couple of weeks ago for RVP v Fulham so what I really need now is a major big week from RVP and a very quiet one from Adebayor. That just might give me the points boost I need.

Anyway for now I get to watch Minnie's Bow Toons followed by Henry Hugglemonster. Roll on kick off today!

Just hoping that I can arrest the slide this weekend.

Had an absolute mare last GW, 4 zero's on my starting XI due to game cancellations

This week going for Sturridge as capt, Suarez seems a little off the boil

    Team is;

Mignolet, Turner, Shaw, Sagna, Mirallas, Lallana, Yaya T, Hazard, Johnson, Suarez, Sturridge (c)

    Benched - Long, Coleman, Gabbidon

Suarez is actually playing very well. His non return of points has been down to a few factors:

    1. Keepers making great saves.
    2. The post and crossbar getting in the way.
    3. Players like Sturridge missing absolute sitters he has created.

That has to end eventually and he'll grab a big score again.

Sticking with Suarez for a number of reasons. Actually hoping my rival does the same.

I reckon Suarez will hit big this weekend. I can feel it in me waters!

I had Sturridge as captain for this game week but I'd be kicking myself if I missed out on the Suarez steam roller. Sturridge to Suarez it is.

    boruc
    azpil kos baines
    hazard lallana silva mata
    ade suarez (C) sturridge

Only tough decision was to play baines over ollson. Norwich have a much better chance of keeping a clean sheet but if you have spent 7.4 on a defender that takes pens you have to play him.

Killed it last GW, 82 points

Captain Van Persie today, think he'll wreck it

CL midweek if he or utd are wrecking it he will be probably taken off early to save him for olympiakos.

    Never even thought about that

Would you choose Dzeko or Sturridge ahead of Van Persie?

Agree Suarez is playing as well as he did all year but just not getting the luck now, he is also very unselfish were he will pass to his team mate to score instead of shooting when one on one (Sterling earlier in season). He has 16 assists this year to prove he is a team player.
Keepers are now getting big saves against him, Foster at 1:0 vs WBA.

Suarez will get the big score and kill those who don't have him captain soon

    Szczesny
    Dawson - Merte - Fonte
    Yaya - Hazard - Lallana - Livermore
    Sturridge - Giroud - Suarez (c)

Hoping to keep the slow climb going this week.

how bout suarez and gerrard both getting an assist?
I think swans are in for a hiding

it's 8.75/1 for that assist double with boyles

Just picked up my first FF prize of the year. Hopefully there'll be many more to come.

Local sports shop has a league where the monthly prize is a €25 voucher and end of year is a €300 voucher.

I won the monthly prize for November and never copped it. Just collected it. I'm 66 points ahead now for the overall prize.

    lads
    fonte or nolan
i have fonte ahead of him but really have no idea who to go with

    i cant decide
nolan does nothing for me when i play him and fonte has
    been good to me

    already benched jrod

all these westham cleanies at home putting me off

I'd play Nolan tbh. He's in decent form and West Ham look better at the back than Saints recently.

I think Carroll is back today too so Nolan should be playing off him. I could be wrong about that though. Not totally sure when Carroll's ban ends.

That break felt like it went on forever, glad to get back to business this week

Need Suarez to come out all guns blazing and show me why i've kept the armband on him all this time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,429 ✭✭✭✭8-10

I've also benched Jay Rod. He's my second sub behind Sterling. My keeper and 5 defenders all have home games this weekend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

All eyes on Yaya and Zab against Stoke later. Would love a big score from both before I ship them out!

RVP still a good option. I personally think sturridge has an easier game especially considering swansea played thurs night.

I just swapped Sterling in for Mata...

    Good/bad idea? Who knows. :P

Just one decision to make. Baker away to Newcastle or Coleman away to Chelsea.

Swapped him back out at 11:30 on the nose.

He'd better not do anything now. :D

Stuck with Coleman. If in doubt play the more expensive player.

    Boruc
    Bruce - Koscielny - Baines
    Mirallas - Mata - Hazard - Lallana
    Benteke - Bony - Suarez (c)

    Davis - Noone - Azpil - Ward

Wanted to start Noone but couldn't fit him in. Benched Azpil in favour of Bruce, hopefully Hull keep a cleanie now.

Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Lampard, Matic; Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Eto'o

Everton: Howard, Baines, Distin, Jagielka, Coleman, Barry, McCarthy, Pienaar, Osman, Mirallas, Traore

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,047 ✭✭✭remoteboy

    Final team

    Speroni
    Kos Coleman Cahill
    Hazard Gerrard (c) Lallana Yaya
    Suarez Ade Dzeko

Gambling on Gerrard as captain for the differential.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

    Marshall
    Kos Fonte Coleman
    Lallana Silva Sterling Hazard(vc)
    Sturridge Adebayor Suarez(C)

Last week got very good score, let's do it again before the next few weeks blanks...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Both my rival and cup opponent have left Coleman in. 2 pointer please...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,675 ✭✭✭HighClass

    Szczesny
    Mert, Cahill, Demel
    Mata, Yaya, Eriksen, Hazard
    Ade(c), Suarez, Sturridge

Woke up late so Eriksen is still in the team. Hopefully he doesn't get a run and Noone comes off the bench for me. Feeling nervous about my captain choice after seeing everyone has Suarez

Morning/afternoon lads! It's great to have the Premier League back after last weeks cup games.

    Adrian

    Terry Jagielka Mertesacker

    Silva Sterling Hazard Lallana

    Negredo Adebayor Suarez (C)

    Subs: Eriksen, Chester, Ward, Mannone

Palace under Pulis is not what I would call an easy game tbh. Anything but.

Sold Rodriguez and Suarez. Got in Adebayor and Sturridge. Captained Van P. Person in fantasy champions league has captained Suarez.

I have my eye on Oscar this match. Need a replacement for Yaya and while Nolan/Adam look the leading candidates I would happily have Oscar or Lampard if they were guaranteed gametime! Both started today.

Gotta wonder though how much the midweek CL tie affected selection today

    Mourinho on Oscar:
"Maybe in the last couple of matches he was not the same, because in the beginning of the season he was the best player in the team," Mourinho said.

"He was the player that was really making the difference in the first three, four months of competition.

"In this moment he's not being a match-winner, he's not scoring goals, but he's not playing bad. Not real problems.

"The talent is there all the time, but the physical top condition to express the quality he has is not always there.

"We have to take care of him. He's a young boy. He's not a natural physically strong man, suffers with the accumulation of matches, suffers with the difficult weather we had."

Sounds like a license to continue rotating him

Just out of bed. Coffee made.

Only two players playing here; Hazard and Azpi.

Unfortunately won't be home much longer so can't watch the games today. Girlfriend guilt-tripped me into spending the day with her before I go to work later because she has the day off. Women..

I assume he meant he swapped him for Sterling and put Mata on the bench and then swapped them back.

Come on Chelsea. I am not being shafted by benching Coleman.
