Why do some people post their childs every waking moment on facebook ?
I like a few snaps of special occasions, Christmas, Birthday party etc but FFS !
Having his breakfast ? Laughing with Daddy etc ? I love my own children but I don't inflict everyone with ''Our little Darling ''
Bugs the crap out of me.
    Rant Over.
    i'll get my coat

I can't understand why anyone would put pictures of a child on facebook. Very unfair on the child in my opinion as they have no say in the matter and when they're older in their teens all their embarrassing baby photos/videos are going to be online for the world to see.

But should the World like them as much ?

I have a friend that does this.

It's endless....kids eating carrots, kids wearing something funny, kids wearing something else, kids in bath.

    IMO, it's borderline child abuse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,072 ✭✭✭keithsfleet

You'll probably find its they're first child.

Use the "hide all posts from this person" button.
Then unhide them in roughly 3 years, you can be sure they'll be finished posting the useless stuff.

I currently have 4 good friends hidden.

Don't look then ffs. How do you let something this trivial annoy you, off all the damn things out there?

Are you trying to be with the 'in' crowd bitching about this?

As opposed to these type of people that link other peoples music/films/art to show how unique they are :P

Are you being with ''In Crowd'' accepting this ? Maybe you are one of the Guilty perhaps ?

Unless you are a hot,middle-aged single mother I'm trying to seduce, I don't care about your kids and their exploits.

I have a FB 'friend' who has a few kids. About 4- 5 times a week she will post pics of her kids with "hi daddy" or "morning daddy" on her own FB page presumably for her husband to see. They all live together!

To them their child is their entire world.

The rest of us really could not give a ****.

Start acting a paedo and then ask your friends to keep on posting up pics of little johnny. It should cease quickly enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,308 ✭✭✭downonthefarm

And then you have the "single" mothers out every weekend posting about it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Its simple really some people just have no lifes outside of there kids everything and i mean everything revolves around them one way or another.

I have had plenty of this from people i know on facebook im down to just the one girl now thankfully !.

But jesus sometimes id love to tell her to just shut up.

My kids this my kids that i dont need a man i have my two boys bla bla only pictures she ever puts up you guessed it her kids.......

The truth is love u aint getting a man because if he sees how the two young fellas take over ur entire living life he will run a mile!.

I actually make it my business to make sure no one keeps posting **** about my son on facebook cause i hate it. Ill admit ive thrown up the odd photo of him and so has my girlfriend but its rare and its mostly just cause lot my friends or family aint seen him yet.

Seriously i lost one of my best friends cause of this she had a child and it just consumed her shes literally owned by him now ffs.

It is causing numerous family rows all over the place.
Sharon posts hourly updates of little Kais adorableness.
She notices (because she's also the Facebook monitor). that her husband's sister Stacey will neither "like" or comment on the fabulousness of Kai.
Cue a hissy fit from Sharon boiling over into a full blown "you think your too good for us and your a jealous cow" shouting incident at the next family gathering.

Unless you're conceited enough to think otherwise, anything you post on FB isn't going to be to everyone's interest. That's what filtering is for.

This thread has probably been done as often as you see those pics on Facebook.

Meh, some people do things that others don't like. Don't let it upset you, life is too short and it is not exactly a big deal.

Could your mate not have put the kid up for adoption so you didn't feel left out? Pretty selfish of them.

Weird seeing this post since just a few minutes ago a facebook friend just posted a pic of her son peeing in the toilet for the first time on her page! I don't know why parents post this stuff all over the net... facebook, google plus, their blogs. When I have a child I won't be doing this. Never mind it being annoying, its also incredibly stupid and dangerous to post that much information about your kids online. I've seen people posting the location of their kids schools on facebook (particularly on September 1st). I find this really creepy especially some of the pics people post: pics of their children in the bathtub, for example. You don't know exactly who is looking at those pics. People are putting their kids in danger by doing that stuff. Maybe I've watched too much LAW & Order SVU, but pedophiles are probably masturbating to those pics.

Why do people do this???? Don't they have any common sense??

Ah, the selfie..a pic that has been around since the dawn of photography but people had to be told what it was. Now everything's about the selfie! Give me strength

Having a child doesn't mean ur life ends. She stopped talking to everyone never got in touch anymore etc.

I have a three month old and I still talk to me mates as much as I can rarely get out anymore but they come up to me or I head out odd time when I'm free.

There's no excuse like I said some people just have kids and cut everyone else and everything else out of there life's.

The worst is those who have Facebook accounts for the kids and then comment on their own stuff with the kids account..........shouldn't be let out of the house!!

If their wifi was turned off for a few days that would quieten them.

One can overlook the irritating stupidity of some parents online behaviour. But when they are potentially compromising their own child's safety, well that just takes it to a whole new level.
