Working out at home (tiny budget for equipment) - what to do?

I want to start working out at home, as I can't afford gym membership so that's a no-go. Plus I don't have money for proper home gym equipment.

I run every other day so fitness is not a problem.

But I want to bulk up a bit, gain some muscle as I'm quite lean.

What can I do at home to help this? Are there basic (cheap) things I can buy to use?

    Any help is very welcomed.

My first investment would be a good pull-up bar. If I could have only one piece of equipment that'd be it.

Lidl and they're in the shops today.

But they only have a 2.5kg and a 5kg, which would be too light for a whole lot.

Agreed, pull-up bar is the business. Pull-ups will work back and biceps depending on the grip you use. I would also get a set of olympic rings for dips to attach to the bar so that would cover chest & triceps too. You could pick up a decent set of rings for around E25. Wall handstands for shoulders. Bodyweight squats won't build mass, more of a toning exercise.

That would give you a good foundation but you would need to be adding weight eventually to build more mass. You could use a dip belt to hang weights or even those lidl kettlebells for weighted pull ups and dips.

Hi here is what I do at home (i have dumbbells, a pull-up bar that you can “hook” onto your door frame and some resistance bands) I'm still need to figure out some good ab exercises as I haven't got the equipment for a hanging leg raise, and a good lower back exercise.

    Upper body

    wide grip lat pull up
    chin up
    side laterals
    hammer curls
    shoulder press
    push-ups
    tricep extension
    dumbell rows

    Lower body

    standing dumbbell calve raise
    dumbbell squats
    dumbbell rear lunge
    dumbbell glute bridge
    Stiff legged dumbbel deadlift

Ab roller. 5 euro in lidl this week I think. Or use dumbbells for a roller
Or do leg raises from your pull bar.two pieces of equipment for a home gym on a budget would be pull up bar and ab roller. Less than 20 for the lot.

jump rope ,pull up bar , try find some cheap second hand weights on adverts , lift and flip logs around , squat with kegs , kegs filled with sand , make your own atlas stones , farmers walks with cinder blocks , coal sacks filled with sand / gravel.... just make something heavy and hold it while you squat , or lift it up with deadlift

If you're creative enough you'll make pretty good jobs and homemade varients of gym equipment , they wont win any beauty contests but they'll be heavy and you can lift / throw them around the backyard.

You could do what my friend does and drive around looking for heavy stuff thats lying around. The guy is built like a brick due to lifting all types of crap he finds.
