Really can't understand NOB being dropped, could have seen him nudging a 20 ball 30 and winning the game for us!

Well, I wouldn't change the team from Wednesday. I agree that our captain isn't playing well but to include NoB who should be dropped?

Honestly, Id consider dropping Porterfield. The captaincy issue is the only thing that makes that a difficult decision.

    Commentary is so so bad

Might have been but at least it was a bit better than RTE's efforts. I was listening to sports news on RTE1 radio last night and after hearing all about GAA elections, indoor athletics, soccer, upcoming rugby, boxing, tiddly winks, what Rory McIlroy had for breakfast etc., we came to the last item - the international cricket match just gone, where it was duly reported that West Indies had leveled up the series. Reporter went on to give a few batting scores including Wilson who it was said and I quote from memory 'only got 35'!

Maybe RTE sports staff need to learn a little more about the game?

Pity KO'B is gone - they were ticking along, nothing spectacular but steady.

Very poor altogether. We'd embarrass ourselves badly if we ever did play a test

Ah go on, anything over 200 won't be a bad score against West Indies.

    finished 202 all out

It'll at very least make a match of it and keep the West Indies honest. Wilson did well again, only three 4s in his 62 but lots of singles etc.

For an experienced county bowler Murtagh has been beyond disappointing. Rarely brings his county form to international cricket.

    Are you taking bets? :)

We show ourselves capable to be tight at times. Still WI in prime position to win.

Wahey, the collapse is on :P

Only 4 runs off last three overs, at least they've put the brakes on a bit..

Oh dear, the wheels are coming off now! You could be right Mex :)

    Sorenson having a torrid time...

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,638 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

    Sorenson finally gets one.

Well if we get another wicket then at least at first glance it wont look like we were so badly outclassed..

    There we go

I think, all in all, that was a pretty successful few days for Ireland. To go out and beat WI at T20 is no mean feat, and then to run them close again in the second one.

I think the batsmen somewhat redeemed themselves in the ODI by posting 200+ on that pitch.

Yeah, it was a comfortable win in the end for WI but it was competitive. Just a pity we couldn't keep the runs down a bit more. They were getting a good few handy boundaries by getting it past our ring of fielders. Whereas it seemed when we batted, they had more conservative field settings and similar shots only got ones and twos?
