Are there "Proper" weight training mags for Women?

    Hi all,

The other half has taken an interest in weight training and conditioning. So far she is flying, good times. (By the way, I really think we need an attitude change in terms of women doing strength training and conditioning. Lying to women and telling them they are going to turn into a mass of muscle and manliness is still a common occurrence, but I digress).

I went to see could I get her a mag on women's fitness as she has expressed an interest in this type of magazine just to see how they compare to sifting through the interwebs.

The only problem is I can't seem to find one that fits. There are ones that are full on power lifting or ones that treat women like they are these soft things that shouldn't be lifting man weights. For clarity, it seems to be the culture of her new found passion she is trying to explore. In terms of training and plan she has all that locked down. I suppose it is like how I buy Wired or watch Ted.

Are there magazines aimed at women that deal with strength training and fitness in the same way some mens magazines do? Basically something in between cosmo style workouts and power lifting?

EDIT: Bugger, wrong board, let me see if I can get a mod to move up.

    Without a doubt.

She has all that locked down. I think it is more the culture of it she is trying to explore.

I've edited my post for clarity. Just to be clear, she is not looking for programs or the like, she already has this. Think geeks buying Wired or runners buying Runners world.

All these mags try and do is sell you supplements. I know women do like magazines though and loads are online as fitness rather muscle building so search through these to see what fits

Yeah that's what I was trying to avoid. I got a couple of suggestions of a few women I know doing the same so I will give them a look. For any women looking the ones suggested were:

1: Muscle And Fitness Hers (HERS)
    2: Oxygen Mag (Oxygen)

Obviously I cannot vouch for the content, I haven't checked myself.

normally when you see women pumped up on the front they sell you sh*t the health ones are ones that are in fact just as good but you dont get all this lumps grown around your body have you ever seen bigger stronger faster ?

if BEEF mag is still about that at least had some womens coverage. all the others don't feature women anymore

Womens Physique World is long gone.

there is Womens fitness, Oxygen and Hers i think. and actually muscular dev may have a few articles and that for women.

New rules of lifting for women. Not a mag but good reading nonetheless.
