Unsweetened almond milk

Does anyone recommend a brand that's nice for drinking or putting in tea? I really don't like the sweetened milks and most brands seem to have sugar in them. Provomel do an unsweetened one but it is not really nice.

I had been using the alpro unsweetended version and it is delicious but it seems to have disappeared from the shops despite being widely advertised. If you've seen it in Galway let me know.

Yeah I use alpro unsweetened too and I think it's the best! Unfortunately my stocks seem to have depleted here too! Next time I see it I'm stocking up.

Almond Breeze is good too but I've never seen it outside of Dublin, not the unsweetened one anyway.

Have you tried Evergreen in Galway city? I've a feeling I bought the Almond Breeze unsweetened there before, although I may be wrong. They definitely have it in Supervalu in Tuam though (the Almond Breeze one), so if you're ever around that area it might be worth stocking up!

Thanks to the two of you. I tried evergreen but they only had the unsweetened provomel which turned out to be nowhere near as nice as the alpro. Very disappointing that it seems to be so hard to get seeing as it's so widely advertised. It's by far the nicest dairy alternative out there. I wonder why so many have sugar in them,I can't imagine how that's so popular unless it's to disguise poor taste. If people wanted sugar it would be easy to add it.

Ive just been wondering where all the unsweetened almond has disappeared to. my local Tesco and Superquinn are out of stock at the moment. If anyone knows anywhere in Dublin city center let me know. :)

I got Almond Breeze unsweetened in supervalu Churchtown. May be a trek for you.

I usually get alpro unsweetened in tesco but they can be hit or miss.

They usually have it in on a shelf with health foods as it's uht so doesn't need to be refrigerated.

I know this isn't your question... but it is dead easy to make almond milk if you have a food processor or a liquidiser, just google it - lots of recipes, some of which call for dates and stuff to sweeten them, but I didn't add anything sweet and it was fine.

If Tesco/Dunnes are out of stock you can get alpro almond milk in most Spars and Centras.

I don't have a food processor or anything like that just now. I might be driven to getting one eventually though. It doesn't bode well that alpro unsweetened is disappearing across the country. I would SO disappointed if it was gone from the shelves.

Oh I'd hardly say it's gone. More likely there was a shipping issue with the bad weather maybe. You'd be surprised! We're only a small country, a few missing shipments and we'd see it nationwide.

Where have you seen the Almond Breeze? Tried it in the states a while back but have never seen it here.

In asked in Tesco and they said they were having problems getting it and don't have a date that it'll be back in right now.

Almond Breeze here I come :/

Saw the unsweetened Alpro in Tesco in Lucan today

My mum is also on the trail of this and told me she spoke to someone in a store today who told her there's a problem with supply as demand has dramatically out stepped production. Seems alpro are saying they've never had a product so successful on its launch and they're hoping to up production over the coming weeks.

There's a lot in dunnes portmarnock, so maybe keep looking in dunnes!

I've also had difficulty getting this but Dunnes in Rathmines have the UHT and the fresh versions in stock at the moment.

The UHT version is available in most Supervalu's.

Dunnes on Stephens green and Henry st, and Supervalu by the ha'penny bridge. I've gotten alpro in dunnes and diamond breeze in Supervalu. A recent discovery for me and I absolutely love it!
