Triax TSC114 Saorview Combo Receiver Channel Query

    Hi,

I'm looking to set up another box (aka multiroom w/o paying sky). I'm looking at the Triax TSC114 Saorview Combo Receiver. I have sky basic package in one room and want to get the Saorview channels and the basic BBC1 BBC2, UTV, Channel4 etc from the UK. Also the addition of PVR will come in handy for other content I might want to view.

Looking at the Triax TSC114 on tvtrade.ie and it seems to suggest on the channel list that it does include saorview channels. I'll be connecting directly to the sky dish so should there be any problems in getting the full channel list above?

    Any responses would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

You need a UHF TV aerial for Saorview, the satellite dish is no use.

The exact kind of installation you need will depend on what the signal is like at your location & whether you want the best achievable reliability or, a 'do rightly' setup. :)

    Thanks Peter
So I presume the UHF aerial input will go into the Ant In connection and the dish i/p will go into LNB in. With both connections in one can then use the Triax TSC114 Saorview Combo Receiver for free to air Irish and UK channels? Is there any good site that you'd recommend for the Triax above?

. . . I presume the UHF aerial input will go into the Ant In connection and the dish i/p will go into LNB in.

Yes. The satellite & Saorview signals, being in different frequency bands, can be carried on 1 cable, if you don't want to run separate cables all the way to the receiver. You would use 2 satellite/terrestrial diplexers: 1 where the cables from dish & aerial come together & another at the receiver, to split the relevant frequencies for ant.-in & LNB-in.
